Donington has been the scene of piss bottle fights since at least 1985 (first time I went), you could tell the experienced people - they had protective headgear. It's before my time, but I believe they still sold beer in cans at Reading festivals in the late 70s and people would throw those around.

http://www.bloggen.be/gnrblog/ Thanks man. Thats really cool and its good to see that it sounds like Axl was determined to see it through. And that they turned up on time  Looks like Izzy did a fair few songs, cool. Good to see Think About You and Chinese Democracy in the setlist. Why they are selling bottles at a rock concert is beyond me. Hell, at any major event in Australia, like the cricket, they sell alcohol in plastic bottles or cans. Much as it sucks to drink beer out of a plastic bottle it does stop stuff like that. |
