i mentioned earlier about the preference seemingly given to england and new york, and though nobody was too bothered i think i have to address the situation. i have to say that maybe i was wrong. i think this show was made special for a reason and its admirable and actually quite wonderful as to the way axl and izzy have seemingly handled this tonight.
now im not talking about axl not throwing an old school fit and storming off over the assholes and technical issues. i think what we had tonight was a determination to alleviate some of the pain that donnington had forever cast on the legacy and psyche of guns n roses and that axl wasnt going to let some idiots ruin what needed to be done.
i know it sounds far fetched and maybe even trite, but its the only reason i can think of that the show was made so special through all the bullshit.
if that crap had of been taking place at the carling weekend or even at the apollo (which wasnt actually evidence of gnr england/london favouritism/exploitation as id originally labelled it), it would have been a disaster and the band, while might not have walked, wouldnt have put in the set they seem to have done.
this show was special for a reason. donnington is where the wave broke all those years ago. hopefully tonight has finally soothed some of the pain (for it'll never completely heal).

Well, wasn't Izzy supposed to be at Rock Am Ring as well?
Axl said so on stage.
So, I guess it's nothing special really.
It's just that you can't have Izzy when you want him. He'll appear when HE wants to...

Sorry, I was typing out my response before you gave your warning.
I get a negative for this? Geez.
I'm sorry but I had just posted 4 times about it.
And you could see it since there is a warning about new replies to the thread.
It says:
"Warning - while you were reading X new replies have been posted.
You may wish to review your post.
"
I would also like to apologize about the word "stupid".
Yes, I saw that. I tend to just bypass that warning and then read the replies afterwards. I figure those replies aren't going to make me want to change my post because my post is a direct response to someone else's.
Guess I won't be doing that anymore.
Anyways, I'm just explaining myself. I hope this post is okay even though it's not really on topic. I'm pretty new here and I don't really have a feel yet for how you guys moderate. I won't make another one.

What i was talkin about in the crowd you may hear this my video they was a guy behind me shoutin loads of shit callin for slash booing sayin how shit the band is and i cant remember what song it was i think it was november rain when it finished he turned to his mate and goes actually that was pretty good never heard much after that from him. The crowd did not like the solos one bit though
Thats pretty funny about the dude shutting up but I don't really expect crowds specially at Download to cheer for Christina Aguilera solo.
They could easily do many things to get better crowd appreciation like starting on time, playing better solos, changing their dress, especially Tommy Stinson who wears that Riddler outfit and pretty much the rest of the band but you gotta give people something to bitch about right?

people that were at download keep bashing the band. ? Calling them " karaoke band" ? These ?people are vicious, they are totally hating on the band. ? ?Reporter asks fans to summarize Download in 3 words ?and 2 fans respond with " GNR are finished " ?Guns n' Roses a disappointment". ? ?This band ?is going to have trouble surviiving. ?Axl needs his foreign fans to support him or he is finished. ?The United States ?already hates him ?he needs these people on board ?and it looks like they gave him thumbs down . ?He still has South America and Asia ?but Europe looks like they are turningn their back to him . ? Oops. I think a certain thread will be locked.?
Naaaaaah, I have a better solution...
Since people think they can do whatever they want, I'll try to be kind enough and show them they can't do that...
Posts will be deleted. Call it nazism.
It good this is happening.
Call me old school.
But back in the day the bitchers knew they had to shut up or face getting banned. Today they run wild, they are like Canadian Geese so fucking much of them and they leave their huge shit behind.
Thanks AG for moderating and keeping this board a bit sane. We need more mods that can be on at different times making sure like 200 million posts don't happen.
BACK ON TOPIC....
So Izzy was at this gig sounds pretty awesome!
Did he tear up at all? Like apparently at the Hammerstein gig that Moi was at!
Peace,
Jimmer

DUDE, do i need to say this again??
The host of kerrang was interviewing people WHILE GNR WAS PLAYING!! Of course he's gonna get bad opinions on the band because everyone who didn't hate gnr WAS WATCHING THEM!!! And you could see on the webcam that there were a hell of a lot people enjoying the show!!!!!

As long as you follow the simple rules we have and listen to the mods when they warn you, you won't have a problem.
And don't worry, 1 negative karma wont get you banned.
But more, might do the job... So, just be carefull next time and everything will go fine. Enjoy the board, it's fun when people behave...

Just to let everyone know there should be a soundboard recording of this and possibly a full pro-shot show!
Anywayz i hate Axls solo project, but its cool Izzy turned up to Donnington!
Who told you this
Download is always filmed and then they do a highlights show on channel 4, so we should get at least 1 song. But then a week or two down the line most of the headliners and main acts' bootlegs come out. Always happens at download trust me. It happnened to Velvet Revolver last year. As long as Axl doesnt specifically tell them to clamp down on leaking the footage, it shoul come out. (Just my two cents, but its all true)
Gn'R feature in the 2nd highlight show, C4, next Monday 19th June at 1.05 AM, in case this hasn't been mentioned.

Hey its gonna be tough to get fan acceptance.
There are plenty of people who see GNR finished and for good reason.
Its not absurd at all they feel that way.
My interest in GNR rekindled mainly because Ron Thal joined the band otherwise I wouldnt give a shit.
The real test for this band will be how well the album is received and how well their tour in America goes.
The rest of the world may support GNR but its not that easy with America.

Exactly, the majority of metal fans weren't gonna embrace these band no matter what they did. I don't think some idiots who like to throw bottles of piss speak for all of Europe. As long as Axl performs well and shows up ontime for their shows they'll do fine. Plus I don't think the USA hates Axl, its just that it isn't 1991 anymore and he isn't viewed as a god by most music fans here anymore.

Well, I can assure you that the italian gig was a hard exam for GNR and they won the challenge!

Its just like budapest, people claim the show sucked and the crowd hated gnr but you watch the videos and axl sounded great and everyone was into the show. The few bashers of the show didnt go to see gnr anyways. So who cares

Success in America doesn't really have the last say in whether it's good or not. I'm not expecting this lineup to have any success in America whatsoever. I could honestly care less one way or the other. I'm just happy that *I* like it and I could care less how many other people in any nation may or may not.
Threads like this are supposed to be for discussion a show that just happened, not arguing about the old band versus the new band. AGAIN.
