I don't see how anyone can be upset.. sports stars miss important games to be with their wives sometimes at birth. Almost any guy on the planet would do the same thing. Plus, Gnr will be back in a couple weeks to make up the performance. I'm sure you guys will get a kick ass show.

and I have to comment on those who just can not understand... fuck off. life is more important then anything... i have 3 kids and I know, trust me... once you have your own, complain...

GnR have done this before. They used Fred Coury from Cinderella way back when Steven Adler broke his hand. And didn't the bassist from the Cult stand in for Duff for a gig back in the late 80's?

it's no sense even trying to reason, his wife is pregnant and he's gone, plus robin is somewhat injured

I know the dude stood in for steve, I forget the shit for duff, maybe when he got married?

At the risk of getting banned for life by heavy-handed moderating, I think there is a legitimate question as to why the "understudy" drummer was not ready to step in?  It may well be simply that Brain's wife developed unexpected complications earlier than anyone anticipated -- and OF COURSE one's family life always should take priority over a gig.
