Retro rock like the Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things?

I haven't heard a whole lot of the 80's stuff from Sweden. what bands do you mean?

I like some of that so-called 'angular' stuff like The Futureheads and Franz Ferdinand. I don't really understand the whole scene thing though.

Yea retro rock is alright but it feels a bit recycled, love the Hives if you want to class them as that. There are always cool underground bands doing some cutting edge stuff which I listen to here and there.

Overall though, Im liking the old musicians new stuff like the Chili's, Neil Young and Gunners (of course). Waiting on Yes' next release.

I'm guessing you mean...

Roadstar
Glitterati
Towers of London
Tokyo Dragons

as for Sweden only band i can think of is CrashDiet (They were Swedish right?) but they're frontman died, although they are looking for a new one for a new band.....

As for the 4 bands i mentioned.  You know i adore Roadstar (still need to get the new album...), Glitterati are awesome to, very similar.  The latter 2 i found bland (i finally checked out Towers of London...), the vocals for Towers were awful, not my thing at all.

Towers of London are the most horrific live experience I've ever endured.

Adding to the fact they all need a slap.

Club NME have a couple of bands every week

So I'm there, and they walk on.

I'm interested 'cause I remembered hearing they were influenced by GN'R.. so I'm watching and waiting.. and.. the levels sucked but I'm not holding that against them.

But the singer was just horrific, and trying to be 'punk', and failing miserably and just being generally annoying and in need of a good fist to his face.

And, the music just sucked.  It was horrendous.

Too much posing, not enough playing.
