Yeah, Robin was stealing the show. People were loving his mid-song solos, and the duet with Richard went down really well. Really, this was as intense and great a show as I imagine being at the Ritz in 88 woukd have been- this show, to me , was this band's Ritz.
Stop blaspheming.
Thanks.

Then Pilferk, Axl owns you and you are his bitch. Which is roughly what the legal notice outside the venue said :
Since I bought a ticket, that gives me a right to an opinion on the time the show happened.
Not hardly, but thanks for not being able to make a coherent point and resorting to petty, childish, immature insults. ?
As it happens, ?I don't see much point in complaining about things that are givens. The sun comes up, the sky is blue, and GnR go on late. ?Sort of a waste of energy. ?Either deal with it or don't buy tickets. ?Pretty simple, really.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion. ?But it goes both ways. ?I'm entitled to mine, as well.
I've seen them 7 times, dating back to the late 80's. ?I think they've been "late" every single time.

I don't get this Pilferk. Not to get into a slanging match, but if you do accept unquestioningly his tardy and rude behaviour - which punctual lateness is - then you aren't able to look beyond his (unquestionably large) talent and willing to forgive his behaviour, irrespective of how inconsiderate it is to the people who went. Then again, Axl may think that he's early, after all, he came on about 4.30 in the afternoon by US time.

There's no getting through to some people ("Some people you just can't reach"). The only bullshit is keeping people waiting until Shit O'Clock to turn up and do his job. If I turned up for work two hours late, I'd get the sack. Shame Axl has surrounded himself with Yes-Men who don't see this.

For God's sake shut the fuck up, and leave this thread for impressions and reviews and discussion OF THIS SHOW. Not another boring discussion about being late.

You take the good with the bad. ?They're always late. ?They've always been late. ?I assume they're always gonna be late. ?So, if you want to see them perform, ?expect them to be late. ?It's the trade off we have to accept to see 'em live. ?Complaining about it isn't going to change it. ?Almost 20 years of shows prove it's not likely to change.
Is it inconsiderate? Maybe. ?I have a hard time slagging them for it, though, considering the ticket buyers have more than enough information to expect it. ?Knowing that, if you buy tickets.....you should know what you're in for and just accept it and move on. ?If you find it "rude" to the point where it bothers you...don't buy tickets. ?Vote with your wallet. ?If ENOUGH people felt that way, GnR would play to a bunch of empty houses. ?But, of course, that's not likely to happen. ?It hasn't happened yet...and they've been going on late since the 80's, for god sake.?
But coming here, and complaining that they've just done what they always do...that is, go on late...is pointless. ?I have no sympathy for you because you had a pretty reasonable expectation that they were gonna go on late. ?You decided to buy tickets, anyway. ?Did you expect that, for one night, they were gonna change things up just to accomodate you?

Late makes it sound like he had a time he should have been on and didn't, he wasn't late, his show started later then most, and always does.

Then stop complaining! its not gonna change today , tomorrow or probably anytime soon, And I saw GNR 17 times since 87, and maybe 1 time they came on close to what you would consider ontime.

axl must have spent 60 odd thousand last night on curfews if rumours are anything to go by
Sounds perfectly likely. Fines are per time after the curfew, and curfew is 11pm at Hammersmith. They're designed to punish even big-name bands.

I was one of those guys that missed the tubes- it took me till 6.30 to get home, but I didn't care. That show, was as good as rock shows get. The chemistry between the band, and just as much between the audience and the band, and the general atmosphere, and of course the show itself, were just amazing.

This show at Hammersmith was like the one at Budapest or Madrid.
It is special
for you
because you attended it. Comparing it with Ritz '88 is an exaggeration.
