« on: June 20, 2006, 06:05:38 AM »

From blabbermouth:-

VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) has posted the following message on his official blog:

"Have been hard at work on the new VELVET REVOLVER stuff. We have been working five days a week for the last month. And have about 10 songs worked up. Going to work in my studio for another couple of weeks. Then start rehearsing for our mini-tour of the West Coast. Then back in the studio to complete the album."

VELVET REVOLVER recently recorded a new song for the upcoming animated feature, "Monster House". The band's 2004 debut, "Contraband", was certified double-platinum for sales in excess of two million copies in the United States.

Confirmed VELVET REVOLVER tour dates:

Jul. 21 - Las Vegas, NV - Hard Rock Hotel
Jul. 22 - Costa Mesa, CA - The Pacific Amphitheatre
Jul. 29 - Kelseyville, CA - Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa
Jul. 30 - Paso Robles, CA - Paso Robles Events Center

They are ROCKSTARS. Don't expect them working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Of course not, but Matt, please don't tell me you've been working hard when you've only been at it a month...  Grin

The impression I got and what I think Matt ment was, 10 tracks are ready, but when they go back to complete the album there will be more track added, probably about 5 tracks I think.

I feel the same. Maybe they'll record even the third album and release it during the tour!  beer

I guess I went too far.  Undecided

I'm getting excited about this album much more than Contraband.  It's obvious that VR want to put out the best product possible, especially since they will probably be compared to Axls CD.

So I take it they are past "pre-production?"

At least for the ten songs Matt mentioned, an educated guess would say there's still some pre-production left on any other tunes they may see fit to move forward with.
