Cool, great to see you enjoyed yourself Smiley
Did a lot of people leave for the metro??

i think yes, too bad...

Axl should learn to tell time... if i had paid for this show and he showed up late and i missed half of it i would be upset. ?

Axl should learn to tell time... if i had paid for this show and he showed up late and i missed half of it i would be upset.

the thing is, i'm not, because it was *really* amazing.
but missing izzy is not cool, sure...

what can we do ?
Axl said there was a lot of (technical i suppose) problems before the show.

so i suppose it's not his fault.
i'm sure i'll see them again in Paris soon with a lot of new titles Wink

i have been curious about that as well... i could hardly believe it when i read that they had played it in NY at the acoustic gig! Shocked and izzy wasn't there then. anyway, either way is fine with me, i am just thrilled to finally see them! beer

Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« Reply #130 on: June 20, 2006, 08:50:10 PM »

I just came back from the show. Good show, but mixed feeling. Axl awesome, Fortus phenomenal (this guy is the next Slash), Robin great (he impressed me more onstage than on bootlegs Smiley), Brain was great, dizzy was ok, Bumblefoot did a good job on "don't cry" and "November Rain" but was useless during the rest of the show.

The begining and the end were fucking GREAT.
The middle of the show was desapointing, people were leaving because of the looooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnng solos and pauses and jam!
The arena was alsmost packed, probably 15.000 people. It was not full but almost full. bercy is a pretty big place. Even bigger than MSG in New-York city.

New songs awesome, Chinese Democracy was brillant. Paradise City was terrific, wow, amazing!
The pyro was great.

But once again, the loonnnnnnnnnnng solos were really boring and way too long. people were leaving before the end of the show.
1H late...

I am back from it as well.

I must admit that i got there at 9 pm and some guy in the arena parking said " no rush, axl is not there yet".

I am extremely sorry for the first parts, should they aread this, i didn't mean to miss their bit, but i had a baby to care for and couldn't leave before.

So, the show was great. The audience rocked to all the old tunes, but were quite cold to the new ones.
Poor bumblebee, he got booed ??!!
People can be silly sods, but i think they would have booed slash too, seeing the state some were in.
I had two " pros" in front of me and when they heard better, i heard them say it was agood song, they were reaaally into it, so that alone is very encouraging.

I love the band's chemistry.

It was so funny, after " i used to love her", axl mentionned our guillotine ( probably in link to how the " her" was killed and buried in the backyard lol !!!)

Dizzy Reed did impress me on piano, i was glad to hear that, i just closed my eyes and drifted..Very good moment.

Fans and non fans piss me off, because i did like hearing each musician's solo, but some of the crowd booed them for it. Idiiots!

Axl's voice was absolutely amazing. I can't say more, it was just perfecto.
He has so much energy !!! He is much much better than when i saw them at pukkelpop.

A special mention for Robin, who gets so carried away with his thing. It's true, it's as if he was having sex with his guitar. He has a very special charisma. Very attractive to look at, and a beautiful man ( nice bum too, white leggings show everything lol !!! )

I hadn't realised richard played so fast, his hands are plugged into electricity, it was unreal !!!!

Tommy is a bit of the shy guy on stage i thought ?

Bumble ran a lot and seemed to be having a good time ( which he would anyway, wouldn't he ?)

Izzy's moment was as good as expected and he is even shyer than tommy, he didn't come up front but was ( i think) enjoying the audience.

God knows what happened before the show, axl seemed gutted but genuinely thanked the audience for making worthwile for him after such a shitty early evening.

Sorry if my review isn't very interesting, my mind was on my baby who was sobbing all night with the sitter and i kept calling home a lot. I am unwinding now i have seen he is okay.

Just got back from the show. Show started at 10:41PM (GN'R's show was planned to start at 10PM). Ended at 1:10AM. Izzy came on stage for the last few songs. I'll post a few pics in a few minutes. Sorry I don't have time to post a long review, it's 3:30AM here and I'm exhausted but I'll post again in a few minutes with the pics.
