How could you only watch the 1st half?!? ?Shocked? O Brother Where Art Thou is one of my favorite movies of all time!? ?ok

Yeah it's a real gem.  I had to stop watching last night because I was at a mate's and he got tired and went to bed.  I wanna buy the soundtrack because there's one song especially that I really wanna learn to play, though I love just about every song in the film.

Saw the Da Vinci Code today!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and I thought it was very good! Tom Hanks I have to admit was a little ... wooden in his acting... but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the movie.

It was a VERY nice change from all the movies which rely on special effects... this one definitely didn't. There were a couple of bits with special effects, but nothing drastic, and it wasn't the main feature of the movie.

The only thing was... I could definitely notice the toned down music... very much so. It seemed so toned down that it was rather shitty actually. Cry rant

I think they should have kept the original music and made it a 15. Hey, a lot of kids under 15 aren't particularly going to find it that interesting.

And if they had to tone down the music to such extents that it stayed a 12A... its not worth it and they shoulda just let it be a 15! It would get better reviews I think.

They didn't cave, and the Classification Board backed down. In the end they kept the original music. Don't believe everything that you read in the papers.

(They didn't really. But how silly would you feel if they did?)

And if they had to tone down the music to such extents that it stayed a 12A... its not worth it and they shoulda just let it be a 15! It would get better reviews I think.

As I said before, the priority is the market and the studio aren't going to opt for integrity over part of their key demographic; there will be a lot of borderline teens that haven't read the book who will want to see the movie instead. As for the reviews, they were always going to be bad. I haven't seen it yet, and it may be a shitty film, but even if it wasn't... The film reviewers, on the whole at least, are a self indulgent lot, and usually consider themselves wider read than they are. Yuk yuk yuk.

If I hadn't read the newspaper thing, I would have just thought "maan they really didn't go all out on the music!"

But I'd have never twigged that the classification board had toned it down... because I wouldn't think that any such thing would ever happen.

The classification board didn't tone the music down; the studio did after it was provisionally given a 15 rating.

And the studio SHOULD opt for integrity! yes

As Billy Aerosmith would say...

Saw The DaVinci Code. Definitely not one of Tom Hanks best performances. I thought it was an alright movie, the biggest negative being if you already read the book, than you know all the surprises and twists.

The biggest positive was Ian McKellan's performance.

I would say definitely see the movie before reading the book. Also read Angels and Demons before The DaVinci Code.

Poseidon

Decent movie, decent effects. 6/10
The story is slightly different from the original one, though
I wonder why it's getting bad reviews?  Huh

Probably because its kind of a pointless movie...

Personally I can't wait until they do The Odyssey... if they do it right, that'll be one hell of an awesome movie! I studied the book in school and it was really kewl!

I'm studying The Odyssey at A-Level right now. I'd love to have a crack at making the movie, the recasting of Sean Bean would be a given.

I saw Phone Booth for the first time on C4 last night, I really liked it. I had no idea how short it was, but I guess that turned out to be a good thing.

When A Stranger Calls Back: This movie was pretty kick ass, kind of jumps the shark towards the end, but it has a very simple, creepy effect.

I watched the remake of the original that just came on DVD and it is a piece of shit.

This one however from 1993 is pretty good.

"Seed Of Chucky"  weird movie but I liked it, not scary anymore but somewhat funny and entertaining.
