I finally watched Red Eye.? I didn't really like it.? It was boring.? That kind of movie needs to be suspenseful, and it wasn't.
I hated Red Eye, it was so critically acclaimed but it was horrible.
All she had to do was tell her dad "Im being kidnapped, get out of the house immediately they are tryin to kill u" then jerk the phone out start fighting that guy and screaming BOMB and shit.
they wouldve detained em both and her dad would've got away in plenty of time.

Yes, but then it woulda fucked up the "plot"... if there was one!!
Does everyone remember that movie "Flightplan"?
Now THAT was good!
I liked how it fucked with your mind and made you think that she actually was crazy... VERY clever movie and I liked it a lot.

Flightplan was awesome, Red Eye horrible.
That dude was a horrible villain in Red EYE and a horrible villain in Batman Begins.

Seriously?? I didn't even think he was attractive. His eyes were too big, bad skin, and greasy hair.

Did she play the mother who wants to be on telly? Cause yeah, she was really good.
I watched 'Ginger Snaps' last night. It wasn't a bad film at all, but goths would like it more.

Honey Baby (2003/M. Kaurism?ki)
European road movie, based on the Greek story of Orpheus and Eurydice. A love story between the American songwriter/musican (Henry Thomas) and the Russian balletdancer (Irina Bj?rlund) and their trip from Germany, thought the Baltics to Russia.
I love road movies and this one was ok too (nothing more, nothing less). Lots of beautiful views of Baltic cities, idyllic gypsy circus and coutryside views of Latvia.
This was a simple love story, but not too cheesy. The beginning was great, but the end was way too surrealistic.
Anyways, recommendable.

'V for Vendetta'
Thought it was excellent- im not going to bother posting in the thread about it since it'll probably get locked. It's obviously a politicaly-polarizing movie and you'll love or hate it based on your beliefs. i found it to be an amazing indictment of any society run by fear and hate and how the two can indavernently lead you down some very bad paths. also, natalie portman rocks!
Saw this yesterday and absolutely loved it. Natalie Portman redeems herself after another subpar performance in Star Wars. Hugo Weaving continues to rise up my list of favorite actors. He manages to make V an interesting character transmiting alot of emotion through the Guy Fawkes mask. At least thats what I thought.
Dont be fooled by the promos, this is not an action movie. There are some action sequences at the beginning and the end but this movie is a drama first and foremost. Love it or hate it, this movie will stick in your mind long after you leave the theater. If nothing else it should be commended for being one of the rare movies lately that requires you to think, not check your brain at the door.

Just saw the Johnny Cash movie and History of Violence
Cash movie was ok. Nothing special and definitely deserved to not win the award . Crash was much, much better
History was good, but it was one of those movies where it could have been so much better

I've seen a few in the past couple of weeks.
Waiting - funny but gross
Proof - good story, somewhat slow
Derailed - it was a lot better than I expected it to be. It's an awesome mind twister

Starsky & Hutch - It was ok I guess. Nothing special.
The Pledge - Interesting, but to drawn out.
White Noise - I thought this was a pretty good movie.

Crash. I didn't like it much at all. I thought it was stupid and tried way too hard to be over-the-top dramatic.
How did that win best picture?

I agree.
It's not a horrible movie, but it didn't showcase anything new to me. I think it's been done before with American History X, Menace II Society , etc...
It had too much of a fairytale ending, like everyone is getting along now. However, I did like how it portrayed people as being multi-dimensional. They weren't just one-sided characters like in most movies.
Brokeback Mountain was the movie I thought would win best picture, because it was original and very well acted.
