Not a new one but watched "The Usual Suspects" again this weekend.
Great film.
Great cast.
Great story.
Great twist at the end.
Anyone who is wondering why people make a big deal about Kevin Spacey, watch this movie.

Films Ive seen since I was last on the board:

Supertroopers -

This movie was absolutely histarical, couldnt have been better written or acted if Broken Lizard tried.

My Baby's Daddy -

I didnt even know this movie was in theatres. It was really short but was really funny with a great cast including Anthony Anderson and Michael Imperioli.
Really sweet ending too.

Hostel -

Went and saw this saturday night with my old man on magic mushrooms and it was just fuckin' unreal. Easily one of the most fucked up movies Ive seen in a long time. So many moments are gunna stick with me forever! The guy with the powerdrill! the chainsaw! the blow torch!

Bet Your Life, pretty entertaining film, plenty of action, acting was quite bad, only good performance was by the wonderful Billy Zane

For anyone who saw Brokeback Mountian:

Did you find that it stayed on your mind after you saw it?  When I first saw it, I thought it was good, but not spectacular.  But I found after a couple days I was still thinking about it, it really got to me.  I even went and saw it again and now I think it is the best movie I've seen this year, maybe in a couple years.

What do you think?

This week I caught:

Napolean Dyanamite, for like the millionth time but nonetheless, the movie is still hands down one of the best comedies in the last several years. So many memorable characters...Pedro, Uncle Rico...and of course Lafondah hihi

The Crow, once again Ive seen this movie many many times but I still managed to enjoy it as if it were my first time watching it. Brandon Lee does a fine performance. Anyone know if the sequel is worth a watch?

Just my opinion but the original with Brandon Lee just set the bar too high. I'm not saying its the greatest movie ever but they did make, at the time, what was one of the best "comic" movies. I only watched the first sequel and did not enjoy it at all. I dont get mushy and sentimental about actors when they die, so I'll say that Brandon was not a great actor, but he was perfect for the character of Eric Draven/ The Crow. No other actor should even bother.

Thanks for the advice, guess Ill be sure to avoid the Crow sequel(s). When watching the original, it just strikes me that something is missing from todays "comic book" movies. Alot of the modern ones mainly focus on CGI effects, and let the storyline drag or become paperthin, while the crow had an pretty crazy storyline and alot of fighting sequences that were kick ass while retaining realism.

Yeah. I was just about to ask, which one...

There are three sequels I think, so far.

To the best of my knowledge, I think the the second sequel is all right, and the other two are pretty bad. I mean, I haven't seen them, but I think that one might be worth watching from what I've heard...

The Human Stain

Starring Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins. I was pretty much disappointed in this movie. As much as I enjoy Kidman, it just never really took off with me. Plus, in my opinion the movie was really forth telling so there was never any intrigue or suspense to flow with the movie.

"Fun With Dick and Jane" it was gawd awful.

Also just rented "Thumbsucker" on dvd.  It was boring and not all that special either.

So much for being entertained by a movie these days!! Smiley

Really? I thought this was one of the best love stories in years n' years.

Sure the plot gradually became more and more predictable, but I just found Anthony and Nicole's love story so absorbing and compassionate...

Such a sad ending.. Cry
