Director's cut isnt anywhere as good as the orginal, trust me!!

However if u hate Ashton Kutcher and his acting, u wont like it period.
So not just the ending is different then?

Is there that big of a difference?

I won't go so far as to say i hate him but for this i definately did he was so miscast, the dude is not bad at comedy (sometimes...) but not any good at anything else......

Memento......Simply Awesome! One of those well constructed films which keeps you guessing what's going to happen next, very intriguing, well written and acted Guy Pearce is great!

What like a happy, fun filled, warm feeling, happy ever after thing? (Tell me dude, i won't be sitting through the original...)

I'm guessing if it is that's why they used that one instead of the Directors which is kind of shitty....

the is more to it then just the ending as you get scences where he is talking to his mum about his dad out side a cafe and also where he is going through some files and finds out his granddad had it too so he realises its passed through the males of his family i still stand by the claim its a good film probably more a cult film as you either like it or dont.

I was looking it up on imdb.com, supposedly it did not go down well with test audiences so they changed the ending, makes sense i guess since it was kind of bleak, 'tis a popular film, average rating of 7.7 maybe it was my dislike for Kutcher in that role......

.....on the subject a sequel is due for 2007, i read though it will not be related to the first, different cast and characters etc. just same basis as it were.  Only actor i noticed mentioned to possibly be in it was the chick who plays Lois Lane in Smallville.....

Just like...

With that Julia Roberts film. I can't remember which one.

And...

Swordfish. They got Halle Berry to get her top off.  Cool

I hate test audiences. Ugh. How manufactured.

I don't think he did forget her.  When he sees her, he recognizes her, but she doesn't really know him.

Guys would you like  Butterfly Effect 2? The sequel?

I think BE, was an entertaining movie, not a cinema master piece, but acomplished its porpouse.  I dont know how they could beat the first one.

I saw THREE TIMES   http://imdb.com/title/tt0459666/

taiwainese.

a three part movie, about love, and mis-understanding between man and woman
the movies tells 3 stories,
first one in 1966 as a young military recruit keeps missin' the girls he loves (who all work in a pool bar )
then a story in ancient taiwan - mute ! but colored , very cool - about a young politician so focused on his party and journey that he does not understand the woman who loves him and waits for him to return.
the last story in 2005, about diseases, lesbians, computers, cellphones and suicide.

movie is kinda long and slow -oh wait, it's asian ... - but it's still powerfull, and the musical and visual atmosphere are very different in each stories, but still echo to each other.

the two characters are always played by the same two actors (the actress is kinda hot, so says my girlfriend)

PEACE Smiley

I thought that some of your favourite films were Asian...

Or can long and slow be a good thing?

I think that, personally, seperatly they are fine and can enhance a movie, but together...? Not really my kind of thing.

Of all the great films that have been mentioned in this thread, I find it hard to believe that Butterfly Affect has got the most post...time.  Tongue

Ahh, but of course.

'Tis surely why the discussion is focused more often than not on a Mark Henry, rather than, say,  a Kurt Angle.

Oh, but if only that wern't true.....

What? Are you drunk? Speak sense!

There are some directors that refuse to work on a film that will use devices such as test screenings...

Our beloved Shyamalan, for one.  Grin

Saw "Million Dollar Baby" last night on HBO, still a good movie!

I turn it off though after she gets put on life support.
