Are you serious...Kelsey Grammer as Beast? How the hell is he gonna pull that off, he's so friggin' old. I heard a rumor a while ago that The Rock was gonna play Beast.
Yeah, he is old... but I couldn't think of another actor I'd rather see as Beast. He can obviously act like an "intellectual" as we've seen from Frazier for 20 years or so. Anyways, the filming for this movie is already underway and Kelsey's been cast as Beast, so it's definetaly not the Rock! I read a report from someone that saw him in his Beast gear and didn't realize it was him until he spoke.
I wonder how far they will go with these movies... I mean, the comics & tv show went into things like space & time travel, and giant robots trying to kill mutants. I wonder what they'll do with the Phoenix storyline, it seemed to rely a lot on things occuring in space.

I think the first two X-Men movies have been great. I hope they don't get to the point where the quality starts to lessen. But I am very interested to see this next one.

It was thrilling
Meh, you really thought so?
Heck yes.
I saw Monster last night. Charlize Theron should have won two Oscars for that role.

Charlize Theron deserved an Oscar for that movie for her look alone. She somehow made herself real ugly and scary looking, and she's smoking hot. That's gotta take some doin'.

"In Her Shoes"
I wasnt thrilled when journey drug me to this kicking and screaming BUT it turned out to be a very very good movie.
Great human interest type story, a nice relationship story, some funny moments, Cameron Diaz in half naked for most of the movie.
BUt the half Naked is like fighting in hockey, just a nice extra bonus.
great movie though, strongly recommend to those who dont consider Dumb and Dumber or Rambo the greatest film ever made.

Hellboy
- Suprisingly entertaining film,
Ron Perlman
rocked in the lead, the film was obviously very far-featured but it never got boring, there were some decent one liners and action scenes and i look forward to the sequel.

Amen to that D. Perhaps next to Gary Oldman, Kevin Bacon kicks ass. I caught that movie on the movie network wednesday night and despite the length it was really great, yet not disturbing for its subject matter.
Speaking of Kevin Bacon, I took my girlfriend to see "Where the Truth Lies" friday night. Wasn't quite as suspensful as I hope but worth it none the less. Definately bring your thinking cap though, the plot can become extremely complex, and different theories are presented at all angles and you kinda have to weed through whats fact, or flashback, or dream

What made it so good?
Was it the blatant Star Wars rip off - the lame direction or the million dollar budget?

Star Wars rip off?
Oh. Influence, maybe.
As far as the direction went, I had no trouble with it asside from maybe some of the action scenes were a bit too choppy, and the use of close ups was a bit excessive, but that asside...
It was a solid film. The script was good enough, and the acting wasn't too bad either.
None of the humour was too overboard, and the film was paced really well.
Although, speaking of pacing...
...I saw Basketball again the other day. As much as I love Trey Parker and Matt Stone (although, Trey more so), this film isn't as good as it could have been.
The pacing is just awful. Wasted jokes, and even more wasted opportunities.
Back to Serenity though...
I just wondered what your take on it was? In more depth, I mean.
...No need to though, it's just that I'm curious as to what bad direction you're refering to?
And, while we're on the subject, what well directed films
are
floating around at present?
As for me, I'm about to watch from Dusk till Dawn. I got it for ?.97 because Blockbuster fucked up, so no complaints from me.
By the way...I hate how this thing reads. My post, I mean, it's all short sentances and no clear points, but maybe I'm too tired at the moment. Anyway, my reason for editing is that I was just thinking about something I read...A reviewer, I can't remember which one or where I read it, was writing about this (Serenity) in relation to Star Wars, and what it would have been like had the prequels been done like this film was. Just a thought but...It is, just that, something to think about...
Oh well, Episode 3 comes out soon. Guess we're stuck with what we've got. And hey...It's not
that
bad....
