kung-fu hustle. i had a smile on my face the whole way through the movie. Brilliantly shot, acted and directed. The plot was obvious and enjoyable which is all you want from an action film. The real treat was how self aware the movie was. It knew exactly what it was and gave everything it could and made some fun at the genre in some cute ways.

Cider House Rules
I knew Charlize Theron was in it. What I didnt know is that it's based on a book by John Irving. I liked it a lot. It touches on social issues like abortion, racism, orphans, and I thought all the actors performed admirably.
Good night you princes of Maine, you kings of New England!

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For pure entertainment value I thought it was great, now plot holes, there were plenty.
Tom Cruise had no business living, I mean everyone around him getting disentegrated but he manages to get away
his son being alive at the end was gay, they shouldve had him killed off to make it more believable, no way that fucker was getting to Boston.
For some mindless thoughtless entertainment however, it was definitely worth the price of admission.

Is it really necessary to write "SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!" if you aren't going to say what frigging movie you are spoiling?
I watched Butterfly Effect again because we had a debate going about a few scenes. Very good movie and surprisingly a good effort by Ashton Kutcher. Still one of the most depressing movies ever though. That final shot of Amy Smart before the credits role supposed to be a happy moment, I think, but it is just so depressing to me.

oops i didnt give away anything though.
What scenes are u talkin about?
discuss em here and id like to throw my 2 cents in and hear people's interpretations and give my own.
that last scene is very depressing
that movie is one of the best ive seen in a very long time.
If Russell Crowe or someone had played Ashton's part that movie wouldve been a classic but critics and most people in general would rather die than give Kutcher credit for being great in that movie which he was.

We were just debating the scene where he has the blackout in the kitchen and awakes holding the knife. One girl here at work thought there was something important about that scene. I said it was nothing important as it only came back later on when he was trying to find an item to destroy the dynamite/bomb. I feel it was just a scene thrown in to extend the movie.
There was one scene that I thought was very poorly written right near the end when his mother is talking with the doctor and Ashtons character opens the door and asks if she brought the home movies. That just felt like a scene they threw together at the last minute to explain where the film came from. It was just poorly written and Kutcher even plays his character different in that scene, almost as if he thinks the scene sucks also.
Overall a good movie. One of the few where I couldn't predict the ending.
Oh yeah, and between this movie, except for whn she is a crack whore, and Road Trip, Amy Smart is reaching Goddess status

War of the Worlds. I loved this movie! I never saw the original or read the book, so I didn't really know what to expect. But it was fantastic, one of the most suspenseful movies I've seen in a long time. I was hesitant to see it, because Tom Cruise has been so annoying lately, but he didn't bother me at all. I'm really glad I saw it.
I actually think its too bad that there are some people who will refuse to like it, or even see it, because they like to be against the "main stream." Ever notice how some people will always trash a movie that does well at the box office? Well it sucks for them, because they are really missing out on this one.
Also, what's the deal with people and their cell phones? Do they not know how to use the "vibrate" function? There were more ringing cell phones in this theater than I've ever heard!

The last movie I saw was Star Wars E2: Attack of the clones, I bought it to catch up with the new sequel that came out recently. Eh it was alright, now there was a movie with huge plot holes. Too much special effects than story and acting, it was worth it though. I notice with movies these days , they seem to focus more on special effects than the plot. It seems like those movie writers these days only take 1 day to write the story and spend the rest of the year on special effects. When I watch an older movie , I can tell they took more time to write the story , they would write one scene at a time.

Had some decent action but was more laughable then anything.
Tim Story is slow catching Uwe Boll as then new ed Wood.
