Saw a few movies over the last couple days.

Avengers 2: Agree with Mysteron mostly, I still thought it was good just not as good.

Welcome To Me: Ehh. It was funny at times and dramatic at others but I couldn't really get into it. There is a good film in there and they missed the mark.

The Insider: An older film, 1999, about the scientist Jeffery Wigrand who worked in the tobacco industry that becomes a whistle blower and his journey through that with a 60 minutes producer. It was a good movie, except some of the over done thriller elements. Very interesting stuff. I was 15 in 1996 when this guy went on 60 minutes to talk about the Tobacco companies and how they lied for years about the effects of smoking and other things. I guess I never really thought about it much at the time. I knew they lied and I knew states sued them, but this film really made me go back and look at it closely. It was interesting watching the movie and then seeing the actual 60 minutes interview with Wigrand and taking a look at what happened. Made me look at those lawsuits and others against the tobacco industry in a different light

Yesterday evening I went to see "Kurt, montage of heck".. Wow. I really loved it.
Nirvana were one of my favourite bands at that time..

I also watched it. Love Nirvana's music.

But the documentary... It's good, but then I also got the feeling of "do we really need to see all these home movies" and animations?

Update on some recent movies watched

Avengers 2-----Well not as well paced as the first one.  It was still quiet good. I have a feeling there will be an extended blue ray released at some point.  Which will lead to better character development and a better paced movie.  Saw it with my two kids, 6 and 10 and they of coarse loved it.  Even though it is a lot more violent then the first.
8/10

Chappi-----This was one weird/stupid yet strangely entertaining movie.  I was lucky enough as to not of seen this movie in the theatre.   It's about a Robot that develops human like tendencys.   Set in South Africa, the scenery is very nice but the movie was just..lol. Weird.   And it was also one of those movies that just seemed never to end
5.5/10

Run All Night----Liam neesons latest movie.  In what seems like the only character he has played for the past 10 years.  He plays a tough guy out for pay back, justice, saving someone, yada yada.  He does play this type of character very well so normally I don't mind   However this time he falls flat.  The supporting cast is very strong and good enough for me to slightly recommend this movie.  Even though the action science are very over the top and non believable at times.  I would like to see Liam go back to movie like Rob Roy or Shindlers.    Where u get to really see his acting chops

Mad Max "Furry Road"

-Got a chance to see this in a great theatre the other day....   Total action flick     If you look at it the whole trip the girls took was for nothing, which kinda means the whole movie was about nothing....  They go on a drive, then come back......   But I liked it and will buy the blue ray for the cottage   7.5/10

Minions

I thought I would get a time out and get a chance to nap in the theater bringing my two little one to this show.   But I stayed up    And actually really liked the show...   Some good laughs for the dads...  7/10

ANT MAN

Saw this with my two minions and the three of us loved it.  We saw it in IMAX 3D.  I am not usually a fan of 3d movies, but damn did this ever look good in the IMAX theater

The movie itself is a riot.  So many funny scenes, as well as some great action!!

Never thought a movie about a Ant Man would be good, but I give it.

Fantastic Four- A hot mess of a reboot. Fox keeps pick the wrong people to bring this to the big screen. Time maybe to sell the rights back to Marvel or do like sony is doing with Spider-Man let them handle it.

Irrational Man - Joaquin Phoenix delivers the goods as usual as a burnt out philosophy professor desperately looking for something to provide meaning to his life while juggling an affair with a student and a colleague. The Rhode Island scenery was quite beautiful and reminds me of the Canadian east coast quite a bit.

I recently upped my home data allotment   So have been putting together a good hard drive of old movies

Tombstone

One of the best westerns I have ever see.  Probably Val kilmers strongest performance   The role that got him batman
9/10

Lord of the flies
Whatched this movie with my two kidos.   Forgot how violent and how much cursing is in it.  Not really a movie for a 6 year old.  And geese those kids in the movie sure go crazy!!   Not a bad film however.  Still holds up
7.5/10

Robin Hood (Kevin Costner)
I hadn't seen this movie since I was a kid.   While not the best acting on Kevin's part.  We still really liked it.  Action scenes still hold up.  It's a pretty good family adventure movie

'Straight Outta Compton'

Quite good and well acted.  Even if you don't really know their story.

Vacation. I thought it was pretty bad. Had a few laughs but overall not a good movie. I was hoping it would at least be ok as I am a huge fan of the original vacation movies, but sadly no.

I fell asleep in the theatre for about 2 hours.  My two kids woke me up and said they totally loved the movie.

10/10

P.s
The key to not always taking the kids tithe bathroom during moves.   Is just to fall asleep   They didn't bother me once.   Damn did they have to pee after hahaha

I saw Inside Out last weekend, what a really good and sweet film. I really enjoyed it, and I'd imagine it's a great film for kids. I've still to catch up on most of this year films

The Martian - Ridley Scott's best film in a long, long time. Perhaps not quite as ambitious as last year's Interstellar, but still a fantastic experience.

Sadly, I haven't watched many new movies this year which is weird... used to be my favorite thing.

I guess the last one I saw in theaters, was Jurassic World, Was awesome!

Tomorrowland - Another kids film. It's a great concept, but it didn't quite do it for me. Very watchable though
