Looper - The story that forms the basis of this movie is great, as is the ending. However, I would have preferred a slicker sci fi movie, as opposed to how the film has actually been made. The film will have it's fans though, and could become a cult classic.

I thought this movie had a mind-blowing amount of potential but was let down by the lame Rainmaker angle which came across too much like an Omen remake.

The Rainmaker angle was cliche, but in terms of the bigger story the film was trying to tell, it was perfectly workable I thought.

I just disappointed with the momentum of the movie. The script was not strong enough to carry the moments where the film slowed down to concentrate on the characters in the movie.

Taken 2 - This is a rehash of Taken, but not quite as good. The IMDB ratings represent both films perfectly well.

Hotel Transylvania - This is a great family film. I really got into the characters, and there were some good comedy moments. I preferred this to Maddy 3, but it was not quite as good as Paranorman. The 3D in this is not worth seeing

Frankenweenie - Yay, great film and story, possibly scary in parts for very young children, there was also a little tear or two at the end.

I was wondering how this would be, because I didn't like the preview too much but kinda wanted to see it. I'll put it on my list to see.

I am really excited for the new Bond film. Looks and sounds awesome. Been too long and the bad taste that Quantum of Solace left needs to be replaced.

I am about to watch some bond films I haven't seen since I was a kid. I don't remember hardly any of the old ones. I'm going to watch Dr. No and Gold Finger. Any other suggestions of the older ones to watch? Its been so long I don't remember them. I usually watch Goldeneye before every bond film comes out because that was the first I saw in the theatre. I was 14 and loved every second. I had watched the older ones at around 7 or 8 with my dad but it was Goldeneye that really got me into Bond.

Goldeneye and the N64 video game are both ingrained on my youth Grin

License to Kill is probably my overall favorite Bond film, though. Super dark and Robert Davi plays a dope villain.

The Magic of Belle Isle - Morgan Freeman plays a misanthropic writer determined to drink himself into oblivion until he starts to become humanized by the divorcee next door and her 3 daughters -- really enjoyed it.

Doesn't open in the States till Friday so I got to wait a couple more days. Can't wait to see it though. I'll be going on Friday.

Watched Brave, it was ok just a vastly different film than what I thought it would be.

Also saw The Watch and it was ok too, just expected it to be much better with the cast they had.

Yeah I saw Goldfinger for the first time last night. I guess it's supposed to be the best Bond movie. It was only OK to me. More of a comedy than an action movie. First time I see Connery as Bond as well, don't get why he's sucha popular 007. If Danny Craig treated the wimminz like ol' Sean they'd butcher him, t'was weird. Also Oddjob slapping Bond on the back and double0seven passes out, Bond throwing a golden brick at oddjob and he just stands there. Reminds me of the old Batman TV series with Adam West.

Pierce Brosnan is Bond.

...Yeah I know you were asking about Skyfall.  Tongue I'm interrested in seeing it. Not a big Bond fan as you could probably guess. Looks pretty cool though. One of my favorite swedish actors (Ola Rapace) plays a small part in it, don't think he says anything though.

Loved it. Goes in my top three Bond movies of all time, along with GoldenEye and Casino Royale. It's got the feel of the old 60's Bond's (specifically Dr. No and From Russia With Love), but it's updated so that it doesn't seem outdated. It also does some things that actually manage to surprise you, which is impressive for the 23rd movie in a 50 year series (not that there are any other movie series to compare it to).

Skyfall - Great film. The opening sequence set the scene. I then loved the kaleidescopic intro, along with Adele's song. It was very classic, and one of the best Bond openings ever. The film moved forward well, the story was simple and sharp, and kept me engaged. Bardem was great in his role as the baddie, I loved the build up and introduction. The only slight downside is that I was not emotionally drawn into the story, so the ending, although great, did not impact on me in that sense. I also felt the ending was a little long and drawn out.

Skyfall: Loved it. One of the best Bond films ever made. I had a few issues with the film such as a character that was introduced late that I felt added absolutely nothing and caused me too lose a lot of interest but it over came that issue. Also had some pacing issues and a case of blatant stupidity in the end sequence. But it was still a very very entertaining film. Bardem played one of the best Bond Villains of all time. He was just great in every way. I loved it.

So yeah, that and actually turning on the flashlight. That was pretty darn stupid. I was sitting there going, seriously? You turned on the fucking flashlight in the middle of nowhere at night while trying to escape.  I kept thinking, this has to be part of the plan, lure them to the other building. But no, it wasn't. Just turn on a flashlight and let them follow us. Good Idea secret agent boss lady. hihi

Skyfall - Maybe my mind was thoroughly blown by last year's Mission: Impossible, but I thought this Bond movie flat-out sucked. Sure, the opening sequence was pretty decent, but from there it all seemed to go downhill. You'd think this film were shot on a shoestring budget - would it have killed those in charge to rent a Lamborghini or something? Plus all the cool gadgetry and trickery we've come to expect from a Bond film was ultimately reduced to a sawed off shotgun?
