Well, I didn't care for the first one so I didn't think 2 would be worth a shit either. I just don't think Rob is much of a film maker...maybe he should do more of a rock/film type of thing rather than a "normal" film.

The Waiting Room (2007) - An enjoyable film starring Anne-Marie Duff and    Ralf Little who meet by chance on a station platform.

RocknRolla (2008) - It was okay but pretty much a dull movie starring Gerard Butler, Tom Wilkinson, and Thandie Newton.

Halloween II.

A big disappointment, since I felt Rob Zombie had done a good job with the 2007 remake-- keeping it faithful to the original while taking it in a bit of a different direction. The sequel's first 15-20 minutes are pretty intense, but after that, it regresses into a psychological study of Laurie Strode, and it doesn't work. Lots of bizarre images, like 'House Of 1,000 Corpses', which is a terrible film.

Here's hoping Michael Myers stays dead this time.

i agree about the first 15-20 minuets. Especially when Michael goes crazy on that nurse was just brutal, and actually hearing him when he uses all of his strength to stab that nurse was awesome

Yeah, that and when Michael is literally tearing the guard's shack apart to reach Laurie.

Of course, Laurie wakes up, and it was only a dream, one of the ultimate cop-outs in movies.

I don't know, I just liked it. Michael was a vicious son of a bitch compared to the robot-like Michael Myers' in all the 80's and 90's sequels. The scene where Annie and her boyfriend are screwing on the couch, and in the background, Michael is watching as "Only Women Bleed" by Alice Cooper is playing on the stereo? That's pretty fucking clever if you ask me.

that was was awesome. but the dream scene felt a little to long for me. it was still good though. I also enjoyed the remake of part 1 and like the new Michael better then the old ones.

Zombie wont be doing the next one(which is what he said about this one, from what I hear he should have stayed away), and its rumored to be out next year in 3D, so who knows

really??? i thought the first one was bloody awful as well...

But with the 2 previous abortions in the Halloween series it was a HUGE upgrade

Halloween 2: One of the worst movies I've seen in awhile.  I'm a big fan of Rob Zombie's music, and The Devil's Rejects is one of my favorite horror films of the last few years, so I'd like to think that he didn't even try on this one. His first Halloween film wasn't great, but it was decent. I liked the first half, when he did his own thing, then the second half just felt like a fast-forwarded version of the original. Halloween 2 was just god-awful, though. I'll scream and run away in the opposite direction if anyone ever tries to make me watch it again.

Flight Plan with Jodie Foster.  Nice tv movie.  She's an amazing actress.  It definitely would have been thumbs-down with an average actress.

Saw Inglorious Basterds. It was very watchable, I thought Chris Waltz was good, could be looking at awards.

Saw District 9, given the year we have had, I thought this was one of the better films this year. Very original and thought provoking. Odd accent though for the main character, he sounded Irish/Scottish at times.

I do believe that is African.

I have heard the S. African accent many times and it is v. similar. I still found the main character's accent strange though. He was a very good actor though

I usually find the South African accent difficult to place at first... But then, I get the same thing with Irish/North American (depending on how Irish/North American it isn't).

Arranged (2007) - Starring Zoe Lister Jones and Francis Benhamou. Enjoyable film about two first year school teachers, one Orthodox Jewish and one Muslim who become friends and eventually learn they have much in common and that both are going thru the process of arranged marriages.

Pride and Glory (2008) - Starring Colin Farrell and Edward Norton. This was a little better than I thought but still just an okay film.

Max Payne (2008) - Starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. Pretty much what I had expected this movie to be. Okay but nothing special, although Mila Kunis was pretty hot in the film.

District 9

Not sure if I'd give it 5 stars like I've seen a few reviews give it, but I still enjoyed it. And not giving anything away, I think the bit at the very end kinda went over my head. I had to find out from Wikipedia! Lips Sealed Tongue
