I saw the Time Travellers Wife. It was ok, not overlly sentimental, and short, which I like.

Off to see the new Tarantino this weekend. I hope it rocks  Cool

Blow

one of my favorite Depp films

ending is very sad though

It's kinda hard to feel sorry for him though. Dude got busted like 2721974207427072 times for trafficking dope, maybe he was in the wrong profession?

I agree. That movie tried way too hard to make you feel sorry for him. I'm sure there are some other people that were involved in his life that could give you a different perspective (his daughter maybe).

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

Inglourious Basterds

Aside from a few small historical innaccuracies, I enjoyed it. Tongue Grin

Haven't actually seen any other Tantino movies (though I will, I promise) so I can't really compare it. Liked Brad Pitt's "bongiorno". hihi

I just saw District 9 and loved it... great concept and I liked how it wasn't based on a book or anything like that....

The two best movies I've seen this summer:

District 9: It started a little slow, but, once it got away from the documentary aspect, it really picked up. Great story, great special effects, great acting, great everything. There's been countless alien movies before, but this one is unlike any you've seen before. Very unique.

Inglorious Basterds: I'm a huge Tarantino fan. Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie of all time. Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill aren't too far behind. Basterds wasn't quite as great as those (at least not yet), but it's still close. Nobody writes dialogue as well as Tarantino, and there are so many great lines in this movie, so many great scenes. Brad Pitt is hilarious. The Jew-Hunter guy did an amazing job; I think he deserves an Oscar nomination. I can't wait to this movie again.

Why are you reading this?

« Reply #5649 on: August 22, 2009, 05:45:03 PM »

'Inglorious Basterds' left me slightly dissapointed. The dialogue was too drawn out and the most of the violence was too... silly. Plus, Brad Pitt's Tennesee accent sounded really wooden (and it's never really explained how a good ol' boy from the Smoky Mountains comes to lead a crack squad of Jewish Americans).

Never mind, its still a very entertaining film al the same. I just think it falls short of Tarantino's best work.

Malcolm X, directed by Spike Lee.

I forgot how fucking great this movie is.  Denzel Washington was robbed for Best Actor.  No way in hell was Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman better than Denzel in X.

btw, Spike Lee is one talented mo-fo.   peace

Thanks to u guys on here, I went and checked out District 9 today.

First 20 minutes, I wasn't so sure and had thoughts of sneaking into Inglorious Basterds for a 2nd time but I stuck with it and boy am i glad i did.

Last half of the movie is absolutely fantastic.

Halloween 2 - horrible film with huge plot holes, bad acting and everything else that can go wrong with a film.

what ruined it for me was that they show too much of Sherri Moon Zombie and Michael when he was a young kid. I understand that Rob wanted the audience to know what Michael sees and what not but it was just too much and Laurie being able to see them also towards the end also ruined the film for me. As for everything else it was alright.

Haven't watched it yet but the reason it sucks already is cause, Michael had 4 million chances to kill her in part 1.......... so if u let her go and didn't kill her, why the fuck are u once again TRYING to kill her............. like do it or GTFO!
