OK, two days ago I finally sat through Twilight and I had to stop it 3 times because I just couldn't take the horrible acting.  The guy wasn't even that bad but the chick was horrible.  I just had to see it for myself though.  Her huffing and puffing and emo-ness were enough to make me roll my eyes through the whole thing but shame on me for sitting there!  I have seen better acting in those ABC After School Specials they used to play back in the 1980s.

(I am pregnant though and spend a lot of time sitting around these days and good film always seems to be scarce in the beginning of the year)

Right now I am halfway through a film called "So ist Paris" and it is wonderful so far.  I am really enjoying it.  Just seeing all the sights in Paris that I haven't seen in 7 or 8 years is nice and the film is really enjoyable as well.  Love Juliette Binoche.

Twilight is for kids really. The first half of the film was a little strained, but it stretched out into a watchable movie, and franchise.

I'll go and see the next chapter.

Sadly, I will probably watch it too since now I started, hahaha.  With someone else in the role of Bella I may have enjoyed it more, she just made it seem extra cheesy to me.

Vignettes=little stories?  Either way that's what I meant by it, nice little film.

The movie was pretty good. Some parts of the movie felt like they were rushed at times. A directors cut of the movie will be coming out and that will be much better than the theatrical cut we got in theaters now. Zack did a good job on putting a book like Watchmen on the screen. The visual effects in the movie are beautiful. I think you would like it Annie ok
Thanks. I watched HARRY POTTER and THE GOBLET OF FIRE on Tv last night. I still don't like Harry Potter. The only good part was seeing Rob Pattinson as Cedric Diggory.

The Harry Potter movies are not as great as they should be, but one could consider them a documentary on actors evolving. It's an amazing experience.
I just can't get into Harry Potter which totally surprised me. I always fall asleep.

I didn't fall in love with TWILIGHT until I read Stephenie Meyer's rough draft of MIDNIGHT SUN which was leaked on the internet., and is now posted on her website. When you know what is going on in Edward's head, the movie is alot more fun. And let's face it, ROb is just too much fun to look at! NEW MOON will be a better movie. I could totally relate to Bella in high school. I was very shy, I sucked at sports, and we moved my senior year of high school.

Thank you!!! Wink

Just finished "So ist Paris" and it was a real nice little film of vignettes.
I love Paris. Did you ever see Amelie?

Amelie was a great movie. Not a 'man' movie though
Very true! But Audrey Tautou is just too adorable in that role.

Changeling: Watched it with my family, and, even before it'd started playing, they were already groaning about how boring it was going to be. Seeing that it was 2 1/2 hours long I also figured that it'd be painfully dull. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. I was enthralled and captivated the entire movie. My family loved it, too. Angelina Jolie was amazing. The story was heartbreaking. It did start to drag a little at the end, but there were a lot of details the movie had to tell us. I don't usually get emotional during movies, but I admit I had tears in my eyes many times throughout the movie--- I guess just knowing that it was a true story and actually happened. Very depressing, but a damn good movie, much better than I was expecting. I highly recommend it.  ok

My review from a week ago or so:  "Changeling.  Sad.  Not a great movie, it was okay.  My wife found it slow and she was expecting more."

I'm glad you got something out of it Gilee.  ...and I will agree, Angelina was good.

Knowing - Thought it was a really good movie until the end when some sort of mystical beings show up. Ruined it.

I watched a film called Synecdoche, New York with Philip Seymour Hoffman.  Very strange film, in the likes of Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine and Being John Malkovich.  One of those films that I will have to watch a few more times to truly get.

Giving away the ending wasn't very nice. Some people might have liked that ending.

Blart--rhymes with fart. They both stink.

The Wrestler--a good movie, even though it was depressing as hell. Rourke was good and Marisa Tomei still has a great body.

I don't quite understand how I gave away the ending. I just never said what exactly they were just " mystical beings " didn't say what they wanted, what they do, what they say. NOTHING.

But it does, because most people would not see that coming.

Well if you watch the movie you would see it comming. it's not like I spoiled it.

Anyways, I am not arguing about this anymore with you because you don't know what you're talking about. Go see the movie then you can see how you are wrong. If you really want me to spoil the movie I can start talking about EVERYTHING that happens from start to finish. Me stating my opinion about the smallest thing not going into detail does not ruin the movie.

This is a thread about movies we've seen, expect people to actually describe them.

Now, let's all get over it, ok?
