The Dark Knight.  Hard to live up to the hype at this point, but a great film.

The Dark Knight: An amazing movie, but falters a bit near the end, which left me with an unsatisfied feeling as I left the theater. (I posted a longer, more detailed review in The Dark Knight thread.)

I forgot to mention I also rented The Bank Job a few nights ago. I hate Jason Statham with a passion, think he's one of the worst actors in the movie business, and I tried to hate this movie just because he was in it . . . but I actually quite enjoyed it. The movie isn't great, by any means, but it's pretty fast-paced and entertaining.

Eastern Promises (2007) - Starring Viggo Mortensen and Naomi Watts. Okay film but the ending was a little bit disappointing. Nothing really happened, it just kind of ended weakly.

Coeurs, "Private Fears in Public Places" (2006) - A French film about six people living in Paris trying to find love and romance but failing to achieve at every turn.

I just traveled 3 hours+ round-trip to Philly to see...Thomas and Friends:  The Great Discovery.

1st movie theater experience for the kids, ever!  They loved it.   love

'twas narrated by Pierce Brosnan.  Past narrators for the Thomas series included Alec Baldwin and George Carlin.  He did a good job.  Smiley

I rented that yesterday, and I'm about to watch it. I agree with you though. He was ok in the Italian Job and maybe Transporter 1, after that all of his movies have beem utter crap, like Chaos, Crank, and War.

Hopefully the Brazilian Job is a good film  hihi

What a coincidence, my wife rented Brokeback today.  We've never seen it...should be interesting.  We've had bad luck with "critically acclaimed" movies in the past...The Apostle, yeah you!  You stinkin' pile of cinematic trash!  Gimme back those 2 1/2 hours!   hihi

Also, we just saw 300.  Did a lot of people like this movie?  Granted, the queen was incredibly hot and seeing her naked was a huge plus...but the movie as a whole was kinda, meh, average.

Okay, my wife and I rewinded the last line of Brokeback about 15 times and we still can't make out what the hell he said!
Any clue?  He sounded like fucking Boomhower from King of the Hill.  Not a bad movie, not a great movie...it definitely got better as it went along.

Jack, I swear....

SPOILER!              thanks, and the thing that happens to Jack, is Heath Ledger just imagining that?  I thought that was what really happened based on the way the wife spoke on the phone.  It seems she probably found out about the other dude and had an "accident" arranged, right?

btw, D, a "little" weird?  I'll be honest, it really grossed me out.  That comes from my up-bringing.  Embarrassed

well as you are talking about this movie Im pretty sure how most of you know my feeling, as Ive never been in the closet. I thought it was a great movie. And fuck ,  whatever, I already had 3 bfs die, and I was left without saying  something, I wanted to say to each, cause I always was the hard ass, and tough, one, .  peace

Actually no I should edit, and clarify, when I was 22(1992) I was in head on collision, lost BF1 , I survived accident, 2004 , an ex but who became my best friend died,.... 2007    my bf of 5 yrs died, he died of aids, ..  yet at least I got to say all the things and make peace with him before he died, that was my special moment. And no I don't have it.. Its my tragic flaw, I think to watch people I love die.

OH on topic last movie I saw was THE DARK NIGHT!

That is so sad jazjme.

I had a difficult time watching Brokeback, I think mostly like other people said, due to my upbringing.  There are things there put into the open that you wouldn't normally see.

That being said, I think I needed to see it to break that perception of what is considered normal.  Love is normal, in all forms.

On topic, I last saw Hancock.  Good summer film.   Grin
