Basically you're all a bunch of fucking morons... Bullet for my Valentine are fucking crazily good.
Right, so when 90% of the people that have had the unfortune of seeing them say they're horrible..
they
are the morons.
Frankly it was one of worst musical live experiences of my life.
..And I've seen The Duke Spirit
dont give us all that rubbish we saw you go to the T shirt stand and buy two t shirts one FFMF and the other BFMV you seemed a lot happier after them purchases believe me ?

Went for a burger before Download show so didnt have to suffer any of it. Saw Lacuna Coil who were pretty good. Suffered ...... and I do mean suffered through Avenged Sevenfold at Hammersmith. Biggest load of shit ever.

After seeing bullets the first time I decided to give mustang harrys extra business, like I didn't have enough beer already
it had been so long since axl performed and so much news to spread that any band before had no chance

The sound for Avenged Sevenfold at Hammersmith was not good and I don't think did them any justice. I've seen them live before and its a fun show. Plus their new album is more 'rocky'

A7X aren't bad, some of their stuff can be catchy. BFMV however was the worst band I had ever seen. I was front row on May 12th. They were FAR too loud. The bass just shook the floor. I could feel my hair slightly moving. He drowned the guitarists and the singer out except for the screaming. I looked at my watch like 15 times each song. It was to the point where it was so damn loud my ears were hurting alot by the time guns came on. Boy, was I in for a treat then. It wasn't overly loud. I could hear every instrument but Pitman and Axl was great.?
I hadn't even thought about BFMV again since the show until today.
PS the living things are pretty damn good too.

fuck sake man how many times does it need to be said avenged sevenfold aren't emo.
i swear some people just use emo as a tag for anything they don't like.
if you really feel like classing them at the moment a7x would come under metal. the iron maiden and metallica influence is so clear on city of evil. and at times you can really hear that slash is one of syns idols.
personaly i thought they were awesome, helps that i knew the music though, and i agree with the person that said the sound at hammersmith was shit, it was and has been at every gig i've seen there.

Basically you're all a bunch of fucking morons... Bullet for my Valentine are fucking crazily good. They are incredibly talented, write heavy but melodic tunes ... Anyone who labels them is a dick. By the definition of labels, Guns N' Roses are a fucking hair band....
Just stop slagging off BFMV, because they're amazing. And live, they sound incredible ...
I was near the front for their set at Download - they sucked. Like Busted on steroids. Melodic? I can only think of about one riff that vaguely caught my attention, the vocals were sucky - they almost sound ok until they start growling and screaming, I find that so boring. And before you say anything I like Strapping Young Lad, where screaming works with the music not against it. So they have technique, great. They were wearing Megadeth and Metallica t-shirts - now there are two bands with awesome technique and yet have the talent to turn it into decent music. I fucking love metal but that wasn't a very good metal band I heard.
As for "By the definition of labels, Guns N' Roses are a fucking hair band...", what the fuck are you talking about?
The only band I saw at Download that were worse was Funeral For A Friend
FFAF were rubbish ... but I WAS ALSO there at Download and BFMV played a blinder of a set. I fucking hate most of the 'fans' here because they're so fucking small and closed minded. And you sir, fit into that category... you like Strapping Young lad? Why? It's not music. It seriously IS noise... You know how I see it ... you never gave Bullet a chance... you just fucking went in thinking something and came out thinking the same without giving a chance. Pathetic.
You know what also makes me laugh .... most of the people here will suck Axl's cock til it's Raw, over band members, and his actions in public, ie: court etc.... yet his choice of support act (yes... HIS ... he's powerful enough to have that decision), get's slagged most of the time ... usually doesn't matter what band it is ...
Oh well... I'm going to go and listen to Bullet now ... and enjoy it... I hope you enjoy the GnR album, because it sounds like it's all you wanna listen to...

Neither Avenged Sevenfold OR Bullet for my Valentine are Emo .... Emo is a fucking label put on by people who don't know shit about music... they confuse stuff... want me to tell you a real emo band? Jimmy Eat World. Yep. Like em? Think they're emo? Well, they are... they're one of the first bands to have that label.... wann know what emo means? It's Emotional Rock ... so fucking what? I don't get the whole label thing...
Avenged and Bullet are both metal bands ... and two of the best around today if you ask me. People that don't like them are conforming to a stereotype of 'hater' for the sake of it ... it annoys me because I know Axl will have specifically chosen the two bands .... You're disrespecting the bands AND Axl if you shout shit to these support acts... they're there to SUPPORT GnR...
Does no one get that?

Hey twisted, You are always in here picking fights with everyone . Are you even a GNR fan?? If you don't like the people here then get the fuck out . their are tons of music message boards out there that would be better suited for your taste in music . Just because some of the people here don't like the music you like does not make them close minded morons , it just means they have good musical taste that's all. I bet you probably think CKY are music Geniuses right?? I guess you took Da Pope's place as the most annoying poster .

Bullshit. Some people like the opening acts, some don't.
They've always had different kinds of opening acts. It's nothing new.
Where were you defending Mix Master Mike in 2002?
Stop acting like you're above everybody else just because you happen to "get" Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine.

A7X were decent at Hammersmith. Glad of my seat to kick back and take in their set.

Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold are about as good as modern hard rock / metal gets these days... i compliment Axl for choosing those bands.
Sebastian Bach plays mostly Skid Row, right? that's kinda gay... he should play stuff from his upcoming solo album instead.
i'd like to see GNR on a big co-headlining tour with Metallica and Alice In Chains... that line-up would crush.

I was defending two bands ... not slagging GnR ... so why don't you fuck off as you tell me to do so?
And Jarmo, I'm not above everyone else... and I don't profess or act it ... I just think most of the people on your forum are twats. I do like some of the people here tho ... Do you think Dave2K is Mr nice? No... he slags people and argues with people too ... as do plenty of others (btw, I'm picking Dave as an example... not as the only person).
This is a discussion board. If I choose to defend some bands, fucking right I can... same way people will defend GnR or Axl when they're slagged off ....
You just don't like my attitude because you don't agree with me most of the time...

i wish they hadnt chosen (or whoever did) shitty emo-metal bands like they have. but they are better than cky mind.
but they shoulda got some proper rock n roll bands like black rebebl motorcycle club. or queens of the stone age! or primal scream! (i know how unlikely that was likely to happen, but it woulda been sweet). and maybe if the support acts hadnt been so shite, i wouldnt have missed the first four songs in dublin!
but there is a real dearth of good rock bands around at the moment so its understandable the support acts being so rubbish. and of course, its easy given the european festival circuit for bullet and avenged to tag along.
shoulda got the flaming lips.

Emo: Emotive Hardcore. The Emo genre has its roots in the late 70's but officially came into being in the mid 80's in Washington, but afterwards died down quite radically. What is called 'emo' now, is actually pop-punk. Examples of Emo bands: Rites Of Spring, Moss Icon. Examples of bands labeled emo that aren't: My Chemical Romance, The Used ect.
Believe me, I've gotten this lecture several a time by my friend, so I've pretty much memorized it. And now we're all smarter, ja?
And my opinion of the opening acts: While I haven't seen them live, based on what I've heard, they're rather 'meh'. Avenged Sevenfold do have a decent guitarist though.

How bout dropping the opening bands altogether? Personally, I would just as soon hear the mixed tape of songs they play after the opening acts end. I can't imagine these opening acts are bringing any "new" fans to Gnr. If they want exposure to new fans, just periodically play festivals. When it is their own show, NO OPENING ACT!!! If you need an opening act to fill a 10,000 to 18,000 seat arena, then play a smaller venue.
