Yeah, they should have just played the house music for 2 hours each night, oh wait............... they did.
Bullet was just not the right band for a GnR crowd. They sounded best the final night when the bassist(?) was gone. He was the worst one with his backing vocals. I'll give them credit for sticking it out, they were catching hell each night.

BFMV was ok, but that is becuase i do not mind angry type music. I can get into it but it was to loud for that place it did become just noise at times. As mike stated I prefered the music over the sterio system more after bfmv. The crowd was having fun then.

Basically you're all a bunch of fucking morons... Bullet for my Valentine are fucking crazily good. They are incredibly talented, write heavy but melodic tunes ... Anyone who labels them is a dick. By the definition of labels, Guns N' Roses are a fucking hair band....
Just stop slagging off BFMV, because they're amazing. And live, they sound incredible ...

I seen highlights from Bullet For My Valletine on the Download show. They were horrible, screeching guitars, screaming (not singing) vocals. Just crap noise

Avenged Sevenfold at Hammersmith were pretty good.
Funeral For A Friend at Donington sucked, but then I've seen them open for Maiden and they were crap then as well.
BFMV are pretty good, and should go down well on the UK tour.

I was near the front for their set at Download - they sucked. ?Like Busted on steroids. ?Melodic? ?I can only think of about one riff that vaguely caught my attention, the vocals were sucky - they almost sound ok until they start growling and screaming, I find that so boring. ?And before you say anything I like Strapping Young Lad, where screaming works with the music not against it. ?So they have technique, great. ?They were wearing Megadeth and Metallica t-shirts - now there are two bands with awesome technique and yet have the talent to turn it into decent music. ?I fucking love metal but that wasn't a very good metal band I heard.
As for "By the definition of labels, Guns N' Roses are a fucking hair band...", what the fuck are you talking about?
The only band I saw at Download that were worse was Funeral For A Friend ?

WTF!? They focus on tight riffing, vocal melody, and searing solos ... You're a freak if you couldn't hear quality from them...
You're just fucking short sighted and closed minded.

Did any of you guys see Living Things in Madrid? What you guys think of them? I went to see them at Download and they didn't seem in to it at all, was a really small, unenthusiastic crowd they were playing to, but some of the stuff I quite liked!

Yes. Yes. and Yes.
I loved the music and I could tell that there was a melody trying to present itself, but it just didn't come across live. The singing was either drowned out by the instuments or screamed to the point of being un-recognizable. I heard him introduce the titles of the songs fine. After that I couldnt tell you one word that man sang.

No I'm just not deaf. although after listening to them I'm surprised I'm not now.
Like Anythinggoes said it's personal opinion, if you can't accept that them you shouldn't come to a board to discuss things. You like them I don't, end of.

Right, so when 90% of the people that have had the unfortune of seeing them say they're horrible..
they
are the morons.
Frankly it was one of worst musical live experiences of my life.
..And I've seen The Duke Spirit
