Buckethead - Best album?
«

I was wondering which of Buckethead's solo album's people think are the best?
I've listened to Enter the Chicken and thought Nottingham Lace (last track - solo) was really amazing.
I've also heard that Giant Robot is the best but I was wondering everyone's favourite Buckethead album and why.

Solo:
Population Override
Giant Robot (NTT) (go to buckethead.tk and register to download it)
Giant Robot (this is the US version that's easier to get, and almost completely different)
Inbred Mountain
w/Others
Transmutation (w/Praxis)- buy this before anything else
Praxis live at Bonnaroo '04 (go to the Bonnaroo website)
Once you get into buckethead, you'll find that the best stuff is often from bootlegs, because he's so improvisatory, and because his catalogue is so diverse. Check out archive.org for a ton of easy to download stuff.

My fav is Giant Robot by far.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

it depends really on what you feel like listening to. Buckethead has different styles in his albums...
i can only comment on the albums i own
for hard rock type listening:
Giant Robot
Monsters and Robots
for quiet listening, relaxing, and contemplating:
Colma
Electric Tears
Population Overide
right now though i'm listening through Enter the Chicken and feel that it is the best album as of now

I have been enjoying Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse lately.

Electric Tears and The Bermuda Triangle.
Electric Tears is up there as one of my favourite albums of all-time, you must check it out.
I will give you a more detailed explanation about these albums later, I'm so tired right now so I'll fix it later.

Im probably going to be in a minority here but I liked Kaleidoscalp the best so far.
Its a very quirky album. I didnt like most of Enter the Chicken - so much of it just sounded like System of a Down (which I dont like). When it didnt it was great.

Population Override is a good one to just stick on and kick back to. Some nice bluesy stuff, mellow with the occasionaly flurry of shredding.

Best BH album, not an easy question to anwser.
Monsters and Robots - is the easy'ist album to get into. Although i don't listen to it much these days.
Bucketheadland - My other favourite BH album, it's more of a story with great guitar sounds.
Giant Robot - My favourite BH album. It takes some getting into.
Enter the Chicken - The lastest BH album. I like this album. It feature's various guest singers on each track.
Colma - Very slow. I think it's great!
Bucketheadland 2 - Good, but not as good as Bucketheadland 1. BHLand2 has some good tracks, but not nearly enough of them.
Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse - Not a must have BH album, i do kinda like it though.
Cuckoo Clocks of Hell - Heavy, i don't really like it.
Population Override - Not for me, slighly boring. Maybe someday i will like it.
Funnel Weaver - Not for me, i don't like it much,
Electric Tears - Not for me, slighly boring. Maybe someday i will like it.
Bermuda Triangle - Not for me, slighly boring. Maybe someday i will like it.
Pieces - I really donot like this album.

Elephant Man's Alarm Clock I think is his best now. It's got shredding, mellow, melodic, funky, hip-hopish stuff. He covers almost all the bases.

Agreed. It was the first BH songs I really listened to, and I haven't found an equal yet. Open to suggestions, though...
