Do you think after a long time of smoking them this might hurt his voice (throat) I don't know how many he smokes per day or how long he's been doing it, just saying throat cancer is a side effect of cigar smoking.. Hope god it never happens, just wondering with how he sings if it will affect his voice and recovery time from show to show./.. he sounds great now, talking a bit down the road..

well I am smoking a cigar or 2 a week (I know, I know... Axl does it more oftenly Tongue) and it doesn't have any effect on my vocals as cigars are not inhaled... while I was smoking (or if I have a cigarette now) my vocal goes higher immediately... right after first cigararette. I get thi kinky high gay pitch (maybe it is just mi hihi )... so I doubt cigars have any impact on his voice...

I know you shouldn't inhale cigars but some smoke gets down there and some wackos do inhale..
Plus he did smoke cigs for a long time... Of course things affect everyone differently.... Either way it's terrible for your mouth n throat..I remember when jack klugman got throat cancer from cigars (odd couple)..

I really think one of the reasons Axl switched from cigarettes to cigars was to preserve his singing voice.

If he doesn't inhale the smoke directly into his lungs, I really cant see it doing any damage, but a professional singer on here may know different...

I quit smoking cigarrettes over a year ago do to my vocal chords becoming too stressed.  However, cigars do not bother me vocally at all, and I smoke cigars rather frequently.  The smoke from a cigar doesn't get close to the vocal chords.

Axl still smokes cigarettes.

The cigars are all part of the PR in photos.

There's more than just lung cancer as an negative consequence of cigars, Mike.  You can get jaw cancer like baseball players who chew tobacco, too.

As long as he's not smoking cigarettes, an occasional cigar is alright, so long as he doesn't inhale and it is occasional.

Any kind of smoking puts tar on your vocal cords which helps for the rasp. It just depends on the person singing, will it help or not? I would guess it works well for Axl, Wink Wink otherwise that motherfuck wouldn't be smoking.  hihi

What's funny is you people think its just a cigar. Axl is a blunt man. There is some of the finest greens inside that thing.

"Any kind of smoking puts tar on your vocal cords which helps for the rasp."

Bullshit. Cannabis is tar free baby.

Right after the first cigarette?  Yeah that only happened to you...I have never heard of that before...after years maybe, but the first cigarette?  I doubt it  rofl
