So does everyone think that Axl is running the show these days and has decided to straighten out on his own???...or has Merck stepped in and is now telling Axl how it should be done???....or has the record company finally said enoughs enough and were not putting up with any bullshit, do the tour and release the album or we are pulling the plug and suing you for losses???  You got to admit Axl has drastically changed over the last few years...he's happy, he's doing interviews and the tour!  Don't het me wrong, I'm happy as hell with the way things are going.  Just Curious!

This is one of those topics that are just idle speculation.  I don't feel comfortable second guessing on topics such as this.  Who knows?  I'm just glad that Axl and the band seem happy playing together.  IMO it bodes well for a release of CD.

Hey all I'm saying is that either Axl has learned alot of restaint lately or someone is standing over him making sure he does the right thing.  Ex: The Scott Weiland thing: no rant on that; and at Download when we normally would have seen Axl walk off or go on a fifteen minute rant he doesn't do anything.  Let me remind you I'm all for the man finishing the show but we know if it were before what would have happened.

  I think Axl is still the guy running things heck he always has been I don't think there is any pr/manager alive who could tell Axl what to do and him to listen unless it was something Axl wanted to do.My theory is Axl see's the metal scene as a challenge now much like when GnR broke big came from nothing to the top band in the world, I think Axl likes challenges and I think he wants to prove to ppl he came stay away form the scene that long come back and take over again.

I don't think that its really relevant who prompted the comeback.  I personally think that someone told Axl to grow up and get on with it, possibly Tommy... but that is speculation, I'm not claiming to have insider knowledge.  I don't think it was the label.  Them putting out the Greatest Hits was a way of telling him to get the finger out, I think they probably left it at that.
