I like the guy and everything, but the more I watch Supergroup the bigger of a tool he becomes. It's kind of embarrassing to see him on the stage with GNR.

i think, personally ive seen more of a change in setlist than i ever thought was gonna happen, used to love her? never thought id get that...dont cry is comin...ron just have to get the rest of the band on board!!! the dc solo at donnington was AMAZING!!!

If there is one gn'r song you absolutely will never hear live, it's one in a million. sorry. and I doubt they'll ever play any lies tunes except for used ta love her and patience, anyway.

I don't want another dream setlist thread... this is merely about some clues we're getting.

Ron's been playing parts of Don't Cry in his solo and apparently last night the whole thing?!?

And Dizzy jammed on Civil War last night.

Might we see these songs go in and some of the AFD songs come out?

They also seem to be rotating the newer tunes... no Madagascar last night. I'd be so pissed if I didn't get that song live as it's one of my favorites. But.

Will those go in? And what comes out?

Ron's played all of Don't Cry before... but Dizzy jammed Civil War?! I must hear that...

I thought that was just a fan's wishlist? Did he really play part of Civil War?

1) CD Songs - No matter where you land on the chicken before the egg argument (i.e. were the leaks leaked intentionally because those were the songs they wanted to play on this tour or are they playing those songs on this tour because they were unintentionally leaked), I think it's clear that Axl does not want the public hearing the rest of the album until it's released.  If he was planning on unleashing any more "big guns", you would have heard them at the shows that were to receive the most press: Hammerstein, Download, etc.  There's an off chance they could drop 1-2 more when they get back to the UK, but I really doubt it.

2) More UYI Songs - I know everyone is clamoring for more, but I don't see it happening.  Axl won't play Coma or Locamotive because they are "Slash songs" and they rarely played them live with Slash anyway (I am in no way advocating reunion talk here, just stating the facts as  I see them).  Same is pretty much true with Estranged; he sees it as partially a Slash song because of the great guitar lines and they barely play it or pulled it off with Slash to begin with.  They never really played Breakdown with the old band to begin with, I don't see it happening now.  I thought I had read somewhere he did not want to play Don't Cry in memory of Shannon Hoon; perhaps Ron's instrumental rendition is a way of placating fans so they can hear the song, while still honoring Shannon's memory by omitting the vocals.  Most of the Izzy songs (Pretty Tied Up, Dust n' Bones, Bad Obssesion, Double Talkin' Jive) have a slight chance of being played now that Izzy is annouced for more of the Euro tour, but I still doubt it.  The one I'm still surpirsed they aren't playing is Civil War.

Everything this band does is for a reason.? I honestly believe Axl is having some fun having B and Diz do these little numbers for us, the hardcores on the boards.

He's getting us ready for some setlist changes.? But the changes might not happen until the US tour.

Hardcores aren't the only ones who like Don't Cry and Civil War. Lots of people know those songs.

You missed my point completely.

We on the boards are the ones clamoring for these songs.  The normal fans are fine with the current setlist.  They get to hear the AFD hits.  I mentioned that PERHAPS they are playing the little snippets to play with us on the boards.

It's just a theory, nothing more.

On the other hand, Bob Dylan plays no new songs on his current tour and his album was recorded earlier this year and is set to come out on August 29th. Now, Radiohead doesn't have a record deal right now so that may be why they can do what they want. Dylan definitely has a deal and so does Guns. I imagine Interscope/Geffen is involved with what Axl can play or can't play at this point. It is not a coincedence that only the leaked songs and a few from 2002 are being played. There is simply to much at stake with Chinese to give the entire album away in a live setting before it is released. Too much money involved.? So, you can bitch all you want, but there will be no more new songs played until the single and album is released.

coma is an axl song. sure slash wrote the guitar parts and an amazing job he did but that song is one of axl's baby's.
