stop with the fucking reunion shit.

it ruins threads.

please lock this? thread
I have an even better idea. You avoid threads that are about old members. When an old member is playing a high percentage of shows, you are going to see a certain amount of posts bringing it up.
James, you are exactly right. ?Is Izzy playing half the shows considered a member again almost? ?Hell, if Pittman is, Izzy must be!
If Izzy being there becomes an almost constant thing on this tour, then yes, I would consider him a member of GNR. I agree with your 'best of both worlds' comment. Its crystal clear that Axl is keeping all options on the table.
actually its been mentioned way more than once there james

It's great Izzy recognizes the new line up as Guns n' Roses. ?He apperantly approves of everything they are doing, he feels its a good thing, or he wouldnt play with them. ?As far as a full scale reunion goes, I hope it doesn't happen. ?There's plenty of new material, let's get it out there. ?What I don't understand is there are GNR fans who support the new band, but the same fans would jump at a chance for a reunion, thereby totally bypassing and discrediting anything that the new band does.

Im a fan of the new band, they are what I want to know as Guns n' Roses now.
what the old band did was the best, probably wont be topped ... so lets leave it at that, and move on with the current GNR.  The current GNR will never be fully accepted, but thats no reason to write them off as being the best band in the world.

Nah...He said he'd be appearing for a number of gigs, but not for the entire tour.

He's too much of a free spirit to be part of a band on a regular basis  ok

i dont think he will be, i mean who would axl get rid of? It would be cool if he did but if theres already three albums worth of material recorded i cant see axl going back to the drawing board. Which he would have to do, izzy would have no creative input into the songs unless that was the case. And izzy after all is a great songwriter.

I highly doubt it. In fact, I am certain it won't happen. It sometimes seem that it is the fans that have yet to let go of the fact that Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy have all moved on. They (the former GN'R members) probably don't see GN'R the same way we do. I don't think a GN'R reunion is on their minds at all, to be honest. If none of the former members re-joined GN'R during the last ten years, when there was nothing but silence (for the most part) and an opportunity to join and be a part of GN'R starting up again, they sure as hell won't join now after having nothing to do with the new album etc.

Anyway, Izzy left for a reason when he first left GN'R, he didn't want to be part of something that big, so I doubt he'll join again now, when things are bound to be even crazier.

I would be enthralled if Axl and Izzy sat down and wrote a few songs for an album somewhere down the line and we got to hear them.  But if Izzy wanted to be in GnR, he would be.  He could have been in either the new GnR or VR if he wanted to, so I don't think he'll rejoin the band.  But hopefully he continues to turn up at a gig here and there to play some of the songs, it's good to see Izzy and Axl together on stage again

Izzy playing with Axl is more than just playing with GNR again. It is a fun temporary thing for Izzy. It has to do with his frienship with Axl more than being in GNR for the time being.

If Izzy and Tracii Guns  joined GNR    do you still think people would be complaining about the name?   I have wondered about this at times .    I don't think it gets more original than those 2 lol.

bumblefoot out, izzy in. possible.

not at the moment of course, but after chinese democracy, why not.

bumblefoot will not rerecord buckethead stuff on this album anyway, and maybe will not play at all on it.

No.

Two lead guitar players, two rythem players?

Maybe they'll get Duff back as well and have two bassists?

its obvious by now Axl wants a strong virtoistic guitar presence in the band, Izzy could never be that. Fortus has the skill but I am not sure if he is THAT proficent. Axl was looking into every technical guitar player around for Bucket's replacement and by what I've heard Bumble is probably the top technical player at the moment. Yes, From what I've heard he is more technically proficent then Bucket.

And vice-versa, I bet Izzy was probably pretty nervous going on stage the first time, but the other guys in the band must be really accepting and encouraging of it for Izzy to agree to do a bunch of shows in advance.

However, I don't think people should read anything at all into this. There are many reasons why Izzy would not wish to re-join full time.?
