Quote
hopefully we'll have both albums in the fall so we can compare

Guns album had better be a superior album for that kind of time and money or else we have all wasted alot of time following this band for the last 8-10 years waiting for this thing. Just the same as you would expect all things being equal that the kids at school who spent 15 weeks working on a term paper would write a better one than the kids who waited until the end and only spent a week. I will be majorly disappointed in Axl if the difference between the two is not clearly night and day.

The question is...if that 1st kid spent 15 weeks writing 3 different term papers....how much better would ONE of them be than the kid who only took 3 weeks to write one?

VR released their first album in  2004.  Looks like their next album is due up in either late '06 or early '07.  2 to 3 years.

GnR, in it's current incarnation, really didn't come together until 1999, right?  Assuming we get CD in '06, and all the work for the other 2 albums is finished up around the same time (sounds like the second will be..with some work left on the 3rd).....you've got approximately 7 years of work for 3 albums.

Doesn't sound SOOOO disparate, to me.

Again, of course, assuming everything we know is correct and goes as planned.

Now, I'm certainly not saying that's an excuse for how long we've had to wait for CD.  I'm not.   I'm strictly talking about percieved quality differences simply because of the time the album has taken to finish...

I think the GNR waters are being tested for a reunion. We all know Slash, Duff, and Adler(or Sorum) would jump at the chance. Even if they hated Axl, there is too much money involved to pass it up. The big question mark in a possible reunion has always been? Izzy. Could he handle being with Axl again? Would he get sick of touring? Cant handle the circus atmosphere? Those questions are now starting to be answered.

My prediction: a GNR Reunion Tour happens in the summer of 2007. That gives CD enough time to fizzle out.

Slash said himself "it doesn't how much money they stick in our faces, there is no reason for us to get together to do anythink unless there is some muchual respect for each other"
Adler would do it purely for the money, Slash, Duff wouldn't, they would need to mend bridges with there friendships with Axl, not just see what the money involved is.

So how about at the House of Blues 2001 when Slash showed up in Vegas to watch the band and in his words, maybe go up and jam a song or two with them?  Maybe Slash was always trying to get in good with Axl without the rest of those guys?  hihi

The time issue is now a moot point in my opinion. Irritating as it is, it really is a non factor in the end. Nobody on this board knows how much time Axl has actually spent on this record and most importantly, nobody knows why he hasn't released anything. The lack of a release could be for a thousand different reasons...none of them quality related. Fans and critics will get hung up on the time issue, but in the end, you will either get the music or you won't. It will either move you or you will simply listen to it a few times and send it off to the used cd bin (Just like I did with Contraband). It is all simply entertainment, nothing more-nothing less. peace

Anyway, Izzy will be at all GNR dates between 11th and 21st so hope you Izz fans can get to a show.

I look forward to the setlists from these shows. I'm hoping for a few more messy surprises like I Used to Love Her, and some not-so-messy ones  Smiley

nyd, maybe you drop a hint to Izzy that he could open of the GNR shows?   beer

James You never give up Huh ?!

Reunion is out of guestion for now , AXl hates Slash, the only reason Izzy is back for a couples shows is ?AXL and Izzy are true friends, you talk about money and the money investing in CD is huge .
Cd wil be out the band go to a wold tour to promove the album , them the second album wil be out another tour ...

K things look rocky but it means fuck all theres a bit of heat there thats it. nothing else. and like axl and slash said there is n bad blood. theres a reason that was said.

James, you are exactly right. ?Is Izzy playing half the shows considered a member again almost? ?Hell, if Pittman is, Izzy must be!

I think it's irrational and illogical to call Izzy a 'member' of the new GN'R. I would call him just an associate to the new GN'R, meaning he's able to hang around with them and play some shows but is not committed to a full-time contract.

What is Izzy's reasoning to play with a band like GNR these days besides the fact that he used to know Axl? ?It really just takes attention away from the current members.... ?I hate partial reunions like this. ?It like, "be a new band with new members, or be the old band and have a reunion." ?It is like Axl is trying to have the best of both worlds. ?All the guitar players is cluttering the sound....and the stage. ?Axl sounds great, the band, not sold on yet.

not a chance in hell cd fizzles out by summer of 2007 and there's more new music after cd.    Izzy is the only original member most people care about anyway.  He's cool with the new band.  Maybe he'll join and record some guitars for cd.  fuck any reunion.  Tommy is cooler than duff and id rather see fink.  Stop bitching about a reunion.
Dont tell me what I can say. If you dont like my posts, stop quoting them all the time. I'm not "bitching" about a reunion. Since you read my posts, you know I am not interested in a reunion at this time. Just because you love Finck and Tommy, that doesn't rule out a reunion in the future. And dont give me that 'more music after CD' line. Axl said that once 4 years ago.
actually its been mentioned way more than once there james
