yeah theres a pit at the rds, well at the shows i was at before anyway, i got in to it once, but youd have to be there early to get in, then you can come and go as you please, out the back of the stand there a large grass area where everyone usually kicks back with a few drinks until the main act starts
shit. thats not what i like to hear. we'll be travelling from the north so we wont be down there early enough.

Can you explain the whole "How long is it from the stage to the seats thing" please.

i dont know the exact distance, someone asked how far the seating was from the stage

so i said that the standing area is between the seated area and the stage, and the standing area is actually a rugby pith which can hav a maximum width of up to 75 yards, im not sure what the minimum width is

Okay, thanks!

I thought you meant meters. Tongue

I looked at some pictures from the Metallica gig in 2004, it didn't look too far.

i dont know how much they were in europe, but they ranged from $35 USD- $80 USD here in the States in 2002. given how ticket prices seem to inflate every year, i think the current pricing levels are normal.

35 for seats in the back of the arena...who wants to sit there... anyway the tickets i had (and never got to use) where about 85$ a piece.

Hi, I've never been to the RDS Arena before and was wondering with the 3pm doors opening if that means the gig starts earlier?
I'm planning on flying onto Dublin for ~4pm that day bus obviously that would be too late if the gigs starts at say 6pm or so. Could someone plz help?

dont know if anyone is taking control of organizing a meeting place- we're staying right in city center but can obviously go wherever. my worry is just getting there right around when the gates open so we all can get decent spots to watch the show from  Cool

you might want to wait a while, the athmosphere does be pretty good outside the rds, havent been there at a gig since radiohead, but i do remember drinking a bottle of wine outside and made radiohead seem a lott better!!!!!

there are a few pubs arouns the entrance that will be thronged with a few hundred outside them aswell.

I know they have a train, but is it better than the bus. That kind of thing...

The DART train service will bring you to Landsdowne Road aprox 15 min walk from there to the RDS

DART can be caught from Tara street station in the city centre
