By any chance do you know where Kelseyville, California is? I know where the Mid State fair is. It's in Paso Robles, Ca. and I'm very familiar with that place.

I wouldn't have a clue, I live in Australia.

ok? Hopefully the dates keep rolling in...? It has been pretty boring in VR land lately.. Time to start getting excited again..

Matt Sorum addresses the subject on the June 10 edition of Camp Freddy Radio.

They'll be doing a week on the west coast just to get back in band mode, doesn't think any new tunes will be played but may do a cover or 2.

It's around the 18/19th minute Matt talks about it.

Well that's pretty shit, he said " no we can't do that yet" referring to new songs. Guess it'll be the same setlist they were doing no the last tour  Roll Eyes And the "Covers" Matt was referring to is probably just "Wish You Were Here", well more then likely.

So the new songs are not finished. Guess they got Axl to produce the second VR album.

These guys only finished their last tour mid-2005, so really it's only been a year since then and you expect a new album already?

I'd rather they took their time than rushing something out.

Some people have no patience.

Well I'm not expecting the album to be finished, but I at least thought they could debut a few new tunes.

Well I am not surprised people don't have much patience.
They all crossed 40.
Look what RHCP, BON Jovi,  Metallica,  Rolling Stones material looks past 40 ok
Not that I was a fan of the bands I listed,  but there clearly seems to be a pattern Smiley
RHCP post Californication material is just bad.
I ain't afraid but some people have a reason looking at post 40 bands.

The new RHCP is on par with Californication (which is only a few years old, mind you; it's not like there's a magical border to cross at 40...)
Bon Jovi had one good album (slippery when wet) and made lot's o' crap afterwards, regardless of their age at the time.
Metallica, well, yeah... I'll give you that one... but I'm guessing it has nothing to do with age...
The Stones' Voodoo Lounge CD was a masterpiece and a huge commercial succes... and they were older than 50 when they released that.
Contraband was by all means and accounts a big success (critical acclaim and commercial success); they were 40 back then.
U2 is still pretty damn succesful and they're older than the VR guys...

It doesn't mean they're not "finished", they probably just don't want a million bootlegs of the new songs (Axl style)

What would lead you to believe they were "finished"?

Contraband rehash? rofl I'm kidding. I hope they play sacramento. If theyre playing the mid state fair, maybe they will play the State Fair. Alot of big bands play there. I will probably go see them if they get close enough. I'm not willing to drive any further than that to see VR.

Well, I'm not a huge VR fan. In Sept., I will be driving 400 miles to see GNR in Davore. I am not willing to drive anywhere near that for VR. If they dont play in Sacramento, Fresno, or somewhere in that vicinity, I wont be seeing VR.
