Seeing how Guns N' Roses are pretty much shoe-in's for the Hall Of Fame in 2012... how will the induction work?
Will it be the original line-up or the New Line Up? Or Both?

Will Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven put aside there diffrences for a few songs?

Funny how there's more GN'R in Velvet Revolver then there is in Guns N' Roses.

Well I'm assuming that by 2012 Chinese Democracy will be out so they'd have a contribution.
I still agree though. It should be the Original line-up. It's there music that made the band legends not these new guys.

I am 100% against the Rock an Roll Hall Of Fame, Im still pissed Ozzy finally let himself in, there is no way GNR should ever allow themselves to be inducted into the Rock an Roll Hall Of Fame smoking

I hope it's not like the KISS tribute, ace plays with slash n company while some poser was in the makeup playing with kiss..

The longevity and their contrbuitions towards teh future will determine the outcome

There will be 75 guys onstage for gnr hall fo fame award rofl

It depends how succesful CD is and does Axl want to perform with rest of the original members and vice versa..

Edit: But is Bucket going to be there (assuming CD is a succes) is interesting because it looks like his parts will remain on CD..

Blondie didn't have her original band there with her.  Well, yeah they were there, but she wouldn't play with them.  Undecided

Im guessing Axl will have final say on who appears on stage because ever since 1992 (?) its been "his band". He owns the name and the right to do what he wants with it.

Dont get your hopes up for a reunion too much unless there are some drastic indicators toward it.

What exactly would be surprising about all of the members being alive in six years?

Have you seen quite a number of musicians from the 60s and 70s still kicking it around?

Anyhow, I'm not interested in debating this particular subject any further than I have. The point is that there are a lot of drug-riddled musicians who look like garbage, but just because they look that way doesn't mean they're going to die anytime soon.

kinda off topic.....But have any of you ever actually been to the actual Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?  Wow, I was so disappointed with it....the Building looks cool, but thats about it. As far as Memoribilia goes, you're better off just checking out the Hard Rock Hotel here in vegas.

I'm not as curious about who would play (since Axl will probably determine that), but rather, who would go in. When bands get inducted, is it just the name or are they individual members that get in. For example, Black Sabbath was inducted, but does that include Ronnie James Dio, too, or is it just the band in general?

I can reliably answer this after watching Parliament/Funkadelic's introduction. If you do a search on YouTube for it, you'll see that every, yes every living member who could attend was there. One moment that sticks out in memory was when one of the members went to the podium and introduced himself as the original bassist (who was in the band before Bootsy Collins).

Keeping in mind that we are talking about Guns N' Roses, I don't know if it's even a possibility for every member to be on stage, and then you'd have to ask the question about who exactly it would include in these days of the impending release of Chinese Democracy. Maybe one we'll see Slash, Duff, Matt, Brain, Gilby, and Izzy join Axl, Finck, Fortus, Thal, Brain, Dizzy, Pittman, and Buckethead.

By the by, no need to slam me for the names I threw out; they were used as examples.

I'm a big Credance Clearwater Revival fan, and I always thought they would get back together to atleast perform a few songs when they were inducted.  All the surviving members were there at the induction, but when they started playing the music it was just John Fogerty and a back up band.  The other members got up mid-song and walked out.

I hope the orginal line up performs, but I wouldn't bet on it.
