I am very interested in the 14th and 15th getting on newsgroups because I cannot connect to mininova at all.  And I can still seed the other shows and download off the groups.  That would be awesome if you could do this and post the group here!

Is it difficult?  Are there any places that describe how to use them?

I am a bit wary of torrents (on a couple of fronts).  I'm still considering joining PC Tracker, but I tend to get into things very methodically...so it's not going to be a quick process if I do ultimately decide to do torrents.

EDIT: Read a bit on Wikipedia.  Seems complicated.

They can be a little difficult but if you can handle rar and par files, it is also a much faster option for downloading (depending on your ISP) and you are not connected to anyone else's computer which is what I am assuming you are wary of for obvious reason.? I am.  Thanks, I will take a look at it.  RAR files I have used for a while now.  Don't know what PAR is (yet).

BTW, you guess one reason.  The other is that I am unsure whether it would work as I think my ISP uses a proxy which supposedly can cause issues, and I've read that for some reason my ISP doesn't really let it's users use torrents.  I guess it's an overall network security thing for them or something.

Is that 17 sets of the 4 concerts or 17 concerts total? Just curious.. I can probably turn out about 20 sets of 4 per night with what i've got set up here... hope i'm in the early batch.  Peace

Well, I guess you wouldn't know unless you tried to use them.  As for the newsgroups I would say it took me months to really fully understand the concept of them but I have been using them for many years now and they are great for finding just about anything if you know where to look.  Good luck with whatever you try though!

 IM me on aim after midnight eastern time (thats when i get home from work) and i can walk you thru it, but first you need to find out if your ISP offers a free news server and what that address is, usually it can be found on their homepage, otherwise you'd need to pay for a news server

par files are just an easy way of "fixing" a set of files that have been corrupted or missing data.  the par files are made from the complete error-free set, so once you DL the rar archive you can use the par files that go with it to check that set and repair if necessary
