Ok, so I also like Pearl Jam and I am a member at their board.  So I was curious as to what folks who don't obsess over GNR thought about the new songs (actually, just Better).  So i gave them the song to listen to....and well, check out the results for yourself:

everyone i ever played better to absolutely loved it ok

they liked the other songs as well, but i didn?t show them to that many people..

one friend of mine even downloaded the songs himself without me telling him about them and he thought they were great. "the old stuff is great music, but this is really mature and it kicks ass"

yeah this is great news!

I gave 'Better' to 4-5 people in my class, who don't like GN'R, and they were thrilled!! They absolutely dug it! Now they're asking when the record I've told them about (CD) is gonna come out and stuff! Its pretty awesome!!  ok

                   I actually think I.R.S is a better song than " Better " personally. It has a lot of in your face that G'n'R used to be.

I personally think Better (aside from a CITR, if it were better quality) is the best of the new leaks, but also, I showed them this song because it has the best quality of any of the leaks.  It really shows off Axl's voice.  Apparently ppl are impressed, as they should be.

my experience with introducing people to Better is, the very first time they hear it they think its just fucked up because of the intro and don't bother to listen to the rest of the song. but when i get people to listen to the whole thing, the love it.
