I undertstand MTV is now devoted to dating shows and horrid reality tv shows but still they must have some cool genes left......Where is the 1 hour sit down interview with Kurt Loder and Axl??....Where is the pro shot concert from Hammerstein?? I mean even VH1 or VH1Classic dint do anything to celebrate the return of Axl........VH1 is busy with Hulk Hogan and Surreal Life garbage...MtV is busy with dating shows although that girl Cheyenne is one hot piece.......Fuse did nothing...................I think AXL could use some TV exposure

That's true but it did seem they got alot more press in 2002 but then again I have a feeling the press are dodging them a bit. Mainly due to the cancelled tour that was supposedly a "comeback", I doubt they want to call the bluff again. It sucks the press doesn't have the attitude we do about the whole thing as it seems so much better this time around. Things just seem to gel.

Does this look infected?

Because MTV was all over the 2002 "comeback" and pretty much got burned when it fizzled out and got canceled. At this point I don't think they really care.

VH1 classic mentioned it (the NY shows) but other than that, the only GN'R references on the telly have been on ET regarding the Tommy incident *sigh* Roll Eyes

Wasn't MTV pissed at Axl or something over the VMA performance? I can't exactly remember what the issue was though.

GNR will get some love from the media when they release the album.  It would be cool if they released a killer, epic video that outdoes anything ever before, but music videos arent as big as they were anymore

I can't remember the last time MTV did something COOL.  They're too busy appealing to the screaming 15 year olds listening to Ashlee Simpson and that crap.

Well MTV2 has been showing live acts from recent festivals like RHCP, KORN, Metallica.

Then bands like TOOL and GNR choose not to i guess.

FUSE televised a 1 hour Chili Peppers concert from NYC's Irving Plaza which was great but I doubt Axl would allow them to show the new band......As for MTV, I am sure if they got Loder to call AXL and do an interview he would do it just like that great 1990 interview he did with Loder 'Famous Last Words'......That was classic.

I think once GNR comes back to American soil after the European tour and their new (hopefully) single gets released, I'm sure MTV will jump on the bandwagon, lol.

I think once we get closer to the album, MTV and VH1 will definitely be on the heels of this band. I think they're really skiddish after the '02 situation, and they obviously don't want a repeat. Not to start rumors, I don't know anything, but with the tour/album, I'd definitely look for GNR at the VMA's this year...

But arn't the VMA's happening sometime this week? I could be wrong as I don't really follow anything with MTV or VH1 cuz recently they have put on some pretty shitty programming .. but I think they are airing this week. And if thats so how could GNR be there? Arn't they currently touring over in Europe?

Plus the fact that they already did the VMA's some years back makes me skeptical as to why they would agree to particpate in some capacity.. maybe they will show a live feed from a concert GNR are doing in Europe or something? ok that would be cool.. but I dunno, seems VERY unlikely

The VMA's are August 28th in NYC, seems like a good time and location for GnR to perform  smoking

obviously, like most other Americans...they don't care. Most outside of GNRs fan base, think this new incarnation of the band is a joke anyway. Sorry, I love Axl and will support, but he should just tour as a solo artist. Legally, Axl owns the name GNR, but he didn't own the magic of GNR and what they collectively brought to the table to create as a unit.

Axl agrees too...no album in 10 years speaks for itself.
