What do you guys think about GNR doing a special concert playing ALL the songs off the Chinese Democracy album?  Much like what "greenday" did last year I believe.

Axl is too afraid of bootlegs.

Some people would get pissed.
They came to see Guns N' Roses and expect them to play the hits.

Funny how there's more GN'R in Velvet Revolver then there is in Guns N' Roses.

The concert could be done even after the album is released.

How about ending this fucking tour, finishing Chinese Democracy, and releasing it. I think it's pretty funny how he's playing mostly Appetite, and now he's got Baz opening for him. Somebody needs to tell Axl 1989 is over and it's now 2006.

now it's cool man, it's all part of the plans hihi if this was any other group everyone wouod be saying the same thing especially since we got a tour heavy in afd in 02 while still looking for cd, he had 4 years to get it out already since then

being he has?a replacement band maybe he figures he has to play known songs to pull it off.. Can't bring the fake gnr plus songs no one knows no

I'm sick of waiting for the album, that's what it comes down to for me. I've seen the Chinese Democracy tour in 2002 and 2006, and I just think it's time for Chinese Democracy, instead of this rehash from twenty years ago.

On the net?

A special concert dedicated to the Chinese Democracy album right before or after the release would be nice.

I presume we will be missing their afd, lnld kohd very soon. This round might be the last chance to see them play a set of greatest hits.

They'd have to have a release date set before doing that kind of show.  Axl cannot justify playing a 2 hour show made up entirely of Chinese Democracy material without releasing the album shortly thereafter...

i think axl should do that. its a good idea, but realistically not happening.. he will do new songs a he's ready one at a time..
and save a few songs for the album.. can't blame him.. Cool

They came to see Guns N' Roses and expect them to play the hits.

Then they would be gay. I guess when they did their first concert everyone got pissed, because they didn't play any hits...

This will happen once Chinese Democracy is released, but I don't think Axl is gonna let people hear his masterpiece before the album is released.

« Reply #19 on: June 04, 2006, 05:32:51 PM »

yes, good idea once it is released

its the kind of performance that 'concept' albums are given

it could be argued that it is a concept album - how could it not be after this long?
