That's a rumour, alright.

Hetfield have stated that the song is about Hollywood in general, people who are stuck in the past.

I will try and find some articles about it, but I'm pretty sure that it isn't about Axl.

Hopefully he wouldn't sing King Nothing.....James needs some therapy; his hatred of axl borders on man love denial.

I just think James witnessed first hand Axls primadona antics and rampant ego, and thought it was pretty lame

awesome, I would like to read that, but he's not gonna come out and say that it is about axl....just like the "elegantly wasted"/"better than oasis" lines in the INXS song Wink

Well, old Metallica was cool, but nowadays it just sucks.
well did you see the metallica show at Rock am Ring? I hate to say it but their show was way better than most guns shows of 2001/2 and 2006...(i know im going to be bashed for this)

Metallica are still a formidable act. Anyone who has written them off may well be surprised when they launch another classic album followed by a monster tour.
