I love these guys. My favourite songs would be King Harvest Has Surely Come, Stage Fright, Long Black Veil and Up On Cripple Creek.

Anyone here seen the Last Waltz?

I know theyve recently gained a bit of popularity in the States because of a Mastercard Commercial that featured "The Weight" or so Ive heard.

Yeah the Band owns.......definitely.   The Last Waltz is amazing.  I love the finale with everyone on stage doing Dylan's "I Shall Be Released."  Probably the best version of that song ever.  Something about that concert just feels rustic but it's great.  There's also a movie with them on a train with Janis Joplin and others touring across Canada I think.  It's pretty cool and has some great behind the scenes footage.

Just checked the movie I'm talking about is called "Festival Express".  It's on Encore all the time, definitely check it out.  They do this jam session on one of the cars with Janis and some others that is just surreal.

My mother worked with someone who's husband was friends with Robbie Robertson. I was at their house a couple times and he was there but I was too young to know who he was. It was quite a shock a few years later when I first saw the video for "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". He used to have a place somewhere between Kingston and Woodstock in upstate NY.

Thats awesome. I think Robertson has lived around there ever since the days when they were writing there with Bob Dylan.

I checked out that movie someone mentioned earlier and really liked it!

Good to see people remember The Band  beer Definate favourite of mine.
