The show was overall very good for a cable TV awards/tribute type show.. Not alot of talk or BS, just flat out playing. Foo Fighters started off exactly at 9, played, then interviews, then Queen etc. Each tribute band played 1 song, then talk & commercial then the band came & played 2 songs. Queen & Foo Fighters, played together.

Then All American Rejects came on. Man, were they bad. Talented, the guitarist played Photograph note for note, but they sounded like they were in a high school talent show. Not for nothing, but I think they needed to get more effects & all, especially for the singer. Glam it up. Get those microphones that JLo & Britney use that adds some umphh to the singers voice.

I'm not a fan of Judas Priest or Godsmack, thought JP was ok. Didn't watch Godsmack at all.

Then came the supergroup. Rob Zombie exceeded all my expectations and I felt was a great choice. I dug his new, raw look. Getting away from the Marilyn Manson dress up style. Great to see Slash, when isn't it. And Tommy has always been a great drummer. Cool to see Scott Ian play bass. Then Kiss played, and well, it's Kiss, although I must say they still did sound pretty good 30 years later.

it was exciting as hell to see the two greatest guitar players ever, Slash and Ace Frehley, take the stage together and rock hard, even doing the "duelling" guitar solo.

On the other hand, it was disgusting that Ace Frehley was onstage in a Kiss tribute band, when literally five minutes later, some scrub was in his makeup, his costume, and playing his riffs/solos along with "Kiss".  If Gene and Paul must tour without the original members, can't they at least bury the hatchet for one night when the original members are being honoured?  Especially since Ace was right fucking there in attendance?
