I can't believe it when people complain about Axl not being in shape.
He looked unbelievable in NYC. ?10 times bettter than 2002 and people still say this? ?Proves u can't please everyone. ?His new look and weight, etc. surpassed my expectations. ?At this point it is hard to think anyone would be saying he is fat, or out of shape, because it just doesn't look like it at all IMO

You're right....What amazes me is why people feel the need to put Axl's every move under the microscope, they over-analyze EVERYTHING...most of them do it, just so they can find the smallest thing to bitch about...it seems as though they have a personal vendetta against Axl. I just hope, and I'm sure Axl doesn't pay attention to these people. They are a small number making a big noise. Hell, take EVERY forum member, of ALL the forums, and that is still a very small percentage of people that will see Gn'R on this tour. The band doesn't need to pay attention to this shit.

Axl's shape should be put in the same topic with Axl's voice. In a new section right next to dead horse.

Axl still runs around like a maniac on stage at 44, just like he did at 24.  And yeah he's out of breath at times, but at the Ritz in 88 he missed full verses cuz he was out of breath.  If people want him to sit in a rocking chair and save his breath for the entire show fine, I'd rather see him rock out like a madman.

Axl isn't really in good shape .  Sebastian Bach is in better shape than Axl and he isn't even touring.   Bach seems like someone that really prepares himself physically and vocally for a show/tour , i don't think Axl gives a shit.  I'm not saying Bach is a better frontman/singer  but he is more dedicated than Axl as far as performing goes.   Axl has absolutely no discipline in what he does and that is why his voice has diminished and he can't run 10 ft on stage without gasping for air .  Axl has had more than 10 yrs to get  prepared for this comeback  and it's obvious he spent his time in the sofa / studio the whole time.  To get prepared for a World Tour you have to run atleast a mile a day and eat healthy.   Kick boxing is not going to cut it.

I think Axl looks terrific!

How do you KNOW what Axl did to prepare for the tour, Swingtrader?  I mean you are stating pretty emphatically that he has no discipline, spent his time on the sofa, and is less dedicated than Bach.   confused  I just don't see how people can voice OPINIONS so easily on someone that they do not know personally.

I just think that someone that is in very good shape  is not going to be gasping for air  after a couple minutes of the first song of a concert.  Look at how long boxers train and prepare for  a 36 minute fight.  There are many singers that use a boxer's regimen to prepare for a tour.  Going on a long tour for a rock singer especially someone like Axl that is/was a maniac and stage and who's vocals are very demanding has to be one of the most physically demanding things someone can do.  I just feel Axl should have gone on a fitness program the time he was here in NYC  instead of hitting the club scene everynight  smoking and drinking.   I am sure i am not the only one that feels that way, unless you are a nutswinger that thinks Axl can walk on water.

You know, I go the gym regularly, but I cannot imagine running around like he does, singing at the top of my lungs night  after night, and not needing oxygen. I have sore throat after giving a 2 hour speech, and I am not yelling.  In addition, I think he is in great shape for a man who is 44. Give him a break.

Not bad for a guy that's considered out of shape:
