That was painful...are you guys tone deaf?

"That guy can't sing but it was good."  Huh?  How can he not sing but it be good?  That was a trainwreck.

the Hoobastank acoustic was actually pretty damn good in a weird way.  I'm glad to see people appreciating Guns...especially the younger folks out there.

On the Underwood front...unless she's buck-naked singing it on video, I can't allow myself to watch!  I'd be like Indiana Jones all tied up telling Marion, "Don't open your eyes!"  hihi

Russtcb said:  "Did anyone stop to think about that this might be another stab at Weiland on Hoobastanks part? Their new single "If I Were You" is a song about how much Hoobastanks lead singer thinks Weiland sucks. So I wonder if they covered GNR to further piss on Weiland?"   Is this true???  If so, definitely interesting.  Any source here?  Why would they hate Weiland?    Huh

I saw it awhile ago at blabbermouth.net. I know I read something elsewhere too (maybe Billboard?). But from what I understand the guys in Hoobastank are nonetofond of Mr. Weiland. Here's the link to the blabbermouth story at least:

When I saw Hoobastank, the guitarist had a GN'R shirt on, so they're obviously huge fans.

I think the cover was awesome, personally.  Too bad their originals aren't as good.

its not bad, definitely hope they dont cover anymore gnr songs though.  its amazing how bad covers of gnr songs are, i mean even cover bands are bars ... if they play bon jovi it songs pretty good, but a gnr song its like get off the stage.

This is exactly why I love this forum so much more than the 'my gnr' forum. Most people here were open minded enough to listen to the cover and at least respect it where as in the other forum everybody's on Axl's dick so much that they automatically wrote it off. I, myself, think it's a pretty good cover and I'm glad people here are open minded enough to really give it a shot before writing it off. I never really liked Hoobastank but a good cover is a good cover. This one is good and therefore it will get some play time on my play list. This is all my opinion, of course.......

As opposed to "if it sounds anything like GNR it's brilliant" mindset?

Here's another great live Hoobastank performance from the VMA's a few years ago. ?I think they're last in the medley.

Funny...that's exactly why I thought everyone was loving this cover here...because the blind love for GNR.  I figured everyone was hanging on the balls of this just because it's a GNR song in some way, shape or form....and to be honest I think that's why the majority of people here are digging it.

Believe me, i am not someone who hears a cover of gnr and automatically hates it because it's not axl singing etc. I am also not someone that hears a cover of gnr and automatically likes it just cause it is a gnr song.

That said, this is one of the most pathetic covers of gnr i've ever heard. their singer is what is wrong with mainstream rock and roll these days and for the past decade in general. i'm not sure i have ever heard as bland of a voice as this guys on this cover. wow. i am truly suprised so many people like this. this guy has nothing at all signature on his voices. sounds like any other joe shmoe local bar singer. terrible.

Of all the crappy covers of gnr songs...this isn't very crappy at all. Nice to hear a stripped version, but I wish it was Axl.

Its ok....I thought. Least it was better than some of the Guns n Roses covers I've heard the past few years. You can eithor do a kick ass cover of Guns n Roses are you can do a Sherl Crow " Sweet Child of Mine " cover and make you consider horrible punishment for those responsible.

Her covers of both Sweet Child and D'yet M'ker are (IMO) some of the worst covers EVER.
