I guess it will be broadcasted on XM:

NETWORK LIVE ROCKS THE WORLD WITH ROCK IN RIO
Network LIVE Secures Exclusive Worldwide Broadcast Licensing Rights for the World Famous Rock in Rio Festival

LOS ANGELES (January 23, 2006) - Network LIVE, a joint venture between AOL, XM Satellite Radio and AEG, announced today that the Company has secured exclusive rights for Rock in Rio, the world's largest multi-day music event. The agreement provides Network LIVE with the exclusive US and international sales and rights for all broadcast and media partners, outside of Portugal and Brazil. This will be the first year that Rock in Rio will also be made available for licensing to all broadcast distribution platforms including (where applicable) Internet, wireless/mobile, satellite and terrestrial radio and television, and on a global basis.

From Aol's help:

The concerts will be available on-demand after the live event has finished and for 30 days afterwards.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but since I only have dial-up internet access, will I still be able to watch Rock In Rio this Sunday on the live stream as well, or is it strictly accessible with High Speed/Cable Internet connections?

Im gunna guess the connection speed will be slow with dialup, and might freeze here and there, but please, pleeeease tell me I can still watch Gn'R this Sunday over my shitty dial-up! Embarrassed

Yeah, I gotta tell you...

watching GnR LIVE from my LR (my PC is getting hooked up to the 50 inch TV), in my PJ's, is gonna be sort of surreal.

I have a 50 inch hi-def Toshiba, how does one connect the PC to it for viewing?

There are some tips in this thread.  I'd repeat them, but just reading them made my head spin lol

Just a warning guys.? I watched the live internet feed last time GnR was in RiR and I got to see every act perform right up to GnR taking the stage.? Apparently GnR had negotiated a deal where their portion of the show could not be broadcast.? I'd bet anything on this happening again this time around.

Nope.

Aolmusic is hyping the hell out of the fact Guns n Roses set will be broadcast.? It's on like Donkey Kong.

In addition, their set is listed "on their schedule" of broadcasts for the day.

Toshiba what? DLP, Plasma, LCD or CRT?  How old?  Newer DLP's, Plasmas' and LCD's are the easiest to connect, with the best pictures for this connection type.  CRT's can be "OK" if they're newer, and much worse if they are older.

It'll work best if your vid card has DVI out and your TV has either DVI in or HDMI in.  If it's got DVI in, you just need a DVI cable...Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack...maybe even Walmart...will have those.  If you have HDMI in you can buy a DVI to HDMI cable for somewhere between 30 and 50 bucks.  Same places as above (though I'm not sure it's a stock Walmart item).  For your first "shot", you may want to have your monitor hooked up too (to your standard VGA port), just so you can set resolution on the 2nd display (your TV).  Once you do it the first time, you PC should "remember" the setting the next time you hook up via this method.

You'll need to run sound out to either your Pc audio speakers OR to your receiver.  Connecting to your receiver, again, is going to depend on your soundcard and what the output options are....RCA, digital optical or digital coax.  Get the appropriate cable(s) and connect to your receiver.

I listened to Rock in Rio 3 on the webcast, they didn't have that blocked out. I had dial up so I didn't even try for the video, but I definitely listened to it streaming live, in response to whomever said they had negotiated some sort of deal.

That's absurd that they might have done that, as it was allowed to be broadcast two places (see bootleg DVD's) so blocking out a video feed for Rock in Rio III would have been pointless in the sense of stopping "leaks"
