Why are they letting Robin Finck play lead parts? He was absolutely horrible compared to Bumble or Richard.
I think Richard should be the "lead guitarist". Robin butchered every solo today.

Well, not one of the best gnr shows certainly. Axl sounded so much better in Madrid. He looked tired in a couple of song (scom was terrible...), started early in patience, the band fucked up pc......

I'll buy ANYTHING Axl does, but this show was sub par. And as happened earlier this week, way too many solos. Solos do not fire up the crowd, they bore them.

Some changes should be made for the following shows:

.- Less solos, a lot less solos indeed.
.- Play don't cry and ?maybe civil war, yesterdays (very appropiate )
.- Fire Mr. Pittman. What the hell does he do?

It's just a constructive critic. My respect for Axl is enormous, but tonight wasn't the night.

Amazing show. I had chills when they came on. Mistakes yes, but you can't ?fault the band's enthusiasm. The mix SUCKED. I can't believe how bad it was at times. Somebody pressed the right button on YCBM. Axl gave a lot but his voice could have been better in the 2nd half but I think he was tired. Portugeese crowd were dead... long day or something? Anyway, me needs bed. Peace

BUT Today AXL WAS  A shameless..You know inside of your heart you knew that he should play at least TWAT(or one more new), because its A BIG DAY..Its Rock in Rio, its big concert, its a first mirror of GNR to WORLD, then TOMORROW every newspaper will talk about THE GNR bad(about old songs, "SO IF THEY PLAYED the OLD songs, please CALL DE OLD BAND).., i didn't like what he did.. really..

Today he was a motherfucker..

Despite all the sound problems, i think it was an awesome performance. ?Axl sounded good but i think the guiter solo's were abit rusty. overall they rocked and did a great job! Its jus so amazing to have Axl back and to see him on stage again. ?Axl looked so damn fine and sexy, he's looking so gooooood ?

I don't understand something:

Ive been bitching about Axl & the new GNR over the last 5 years when all of a sudden I see them at Hammerstein Ballroom 5.14 and they're to me at least 10-15x better than they have been since Slash left. Yet I see a lot of bitching now than Ive ever seen before.

You're entitled to your opnions - I fucking hate when people tell me Im full of shit when I know what to expect from a musical product like GNR. I still think Axl's great so far, though he certainly is even better on a smaller stage than in a big arena. But he's fucking great again. The verdict is still out on the new music, but I thought IRS was pretty sikk tonite and Axl's vocals, though inconsistent on my stream, sounded 110% on that song. I've seen dozens of GNR shows, and Axl looks to me in the best on stage form since early UYI 1991 era.
I'm gonna buy the Hammerstein DVD from 5.17 though, it seems to be the best show they're done so far
