Positive Guns N' Roses Mention People Magazine June 5th 2006

I was at the Dentist's today checking out a People Magazine (the June 5th or 6th edition) when I noticed a story on GNR inside. Inside was a full page article on Guns N' Roses and their return to the world stage. I tried to rip the article out of the magazine but I ripped it wrong. Hopefully someone can scan the page so they can verify what I'm about to say.
The article was very positive. There was no mention of "Boaxl" or "Whaxl" or any shit like that. Instead the article mentioned how GNR played four highly praised gigs in New York and how GNR is back. They also mentioned the confrontation Axl had with Tommy Hilfiger. They have a picture which I've never seen in the article that SHOWS Axl and Tommy Hilifiger being seperated by security. Axl looks very calm and collective, and very confident. He looks almost as if he pities Hilfiger. Hilfiger in the photo looks like a whiny bitch who's being escorted out by security.
The rest of the article mentions how Axl is back to his old self. They have a quote by Baz praising Axl. They mention Chinese Democracy and how its expected to be released this year. Furthermore they mention the European tour. Overall the article was really positive, a drastic change from the way the media responded to Axl in 2002. They mention GNR's previous success and the aborted 2002 and call the 2006 a "triumphant return" (or something similar to this). I'm not an Axl diehard or anything but it was refreshing to see a balanced critique of GNR 2006 in a popular magazine.

I just read the article. It was, infact, very positive. There was not, however, any GNR mention on the cover. That was a mistake by the initial poster.

Nah nobody gave a shit. I'm just wondering, does anybody have a copy of that People magazine. Somebody should definitely scan the picture. The picture inside is very cool of Axl (practically my favourite new one because he has that old fire in his eyes) and I don't think its been posted before. Not only that but people have been bitching that GNR are getting bad press (the european shows, etc) yet heres a major North American publication approving the new line-up, something that in 2002 would have been hard to come by. Just a thought.

The music scene is changing. In 2002 Guns N Roses were still suffering a poor public image. Even though the tracklisting isn't what the hardcore fans wanted to see, I think the Greatest Hits release and its continued success has helped with their image and popularity. You see young kids walking around with Guns N Roses shirts on again, their music is now "cool" to like again

Because Axl's going out and turning up at parties, providing the media-vultures with meat for their gossip machine. If you hide yourself away for 10 years, you piss the media off, 'cause they can't feed off you...

good performances, relatively timely performances, and Axl's been very pleasant, charming, and gracious during the performances from everything I've seen

The music scene is changing.? In 2002 Guns N Roses were still suffering a poor public image.? To the kids who are getting into Guns n Roses they see a man who was a wild motherf-cker. Plus could perform awesomingly on stage. The shows have seen Kid Rock , Sebastion Bach , and young Hollywood stars embracing Rose. You add all this up and its no shock...the scene has opened up for Axl Rose to make his return.
The music scene is changing. The kids who grew up listening to Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears want better music to suit thier growing tastes. The " Greatest Hits " has them slowly experincing something and maybe Axl was right to take years off to grow the G'n'R name into something.....More.

Axl says the smartest thing he did in 10 years was to do Rosario Dawson's Birthday. I disagree, I think the smartest thing he has done is too hang out with Baz again. With Baz he has been hooked up with a vocal coach, seems to be in good spirits again, and Baz is talking him up in the media. Good move for Axl and perhaps his sanity.
