...Gone to the toilet

« on: May 29, 2006, 02:03:33 PM »

After watching the broadcast on AOL the other night I started to wish the new guys would get the recognition they deserve, they are an absolutely amazing band! I thought they were good in 2002 but now they are on a different level, I wouldn't mind if they just played a couple of the old songs and a heap of new stuff, so maybe if they changed their name people would stop all that 'its not GNR without Slash' crap.

The media and general music fans would take them alot more seriouslty and may even given them a shot, ?the general consensus is that this is a cover band and when you have a bad night like the VMA's it ruins all credibilty.

?If Axl was so confident in the new band and the new songs he should have a new name...

I know everyone is going to say that Axl bought the name, Axl is GNR, Axl is the only reason that GNR has survived, Slash left GNr why should Axl leave the name ...blah, blah, blah

Why:

To give the new guys a fightning chance, to give the new songs a chance...right now they don't have much of a chance...

You neve hear anyone saying...Velvet Revolver sucks, Scott isn't Axl...noone mentions VR and Axl Rose in reviews, ?alot of reivews about this band mention "slash-less GNR" ?"hired Guns" etc.. ?and NO when CD is released it will not change everyones mind because the non gnr fans who trash Axl will just claim it took Axl 15 years to make a record without Slash...

I think Axl fucked himself big time...

I'll save everyone the trouble:
FUCK YOU YOU PATHETIC HATING FUCK AXL ROCKS!

Well if this was 1999, I would've said go for a new name.

They've had 1 "complete" tour and they are in the middle of another tour with the name Guns N' Roses so a name change is out of the question at this moment in time and completely pointless.

He should change the name without a doubt, especially after seeing the Rio performance. It was sad to watch. He shouldnt be dragging the name into the mud like that. Its starting to make me dread how bad Hammersmith could turn out next week.

Nice gold jacket too - the Elton John transformation is almost complete.

ok Besides, there's no reason he should peace

How come people still think about those things, all those years later. It's been a long time now that GN'R looks like this, and it's like it was yesterday to some people.

Can't you just accept it ?

Not saying this for you two guys, it's just a general feeling I got reading through the lasts threads ok

This is the second tour they are doing under the name.

They may as well keep it. I dont really give a shit about the old VS new, "they need a new name" argument. This is just the way it is.

 no

At least see the band live before you judge them.  The Rio performance had a horrible sound mix on the feed with vocals and guitars cutting out and keyboards drowning out other instruments.   It sounded nothing like the band sounded live at Hammerstein.  And just about everyone who saw them at RIR thought it was a great show, furthering the idea that the live feed was shitty

Locomotive98, was it equally bad when Axl wore a kilt?  Or what about the cycling shorts?  Or that monstrosity he wears at the start of the Don't Cry video?  Or is it only bad with the new band?

Its always been bad Gargh. Why all the fucking costume changes - yes, especially in the past.

I hope its Axl that turns up next week, and not Cher.

Anyway my main post was about how shockingly terrible his voice was at Rio.

The Elton john thing was just a cheeky comment regarding Axl's fixation with 'piano rock'.

Hey, change your avatar

This has been a never ending thread, any way, AXL FUCKING ROSE is a huge, huge name, i agree in why keepinmg the name GN
?R to do this? from the beginning and for the glory that gn?r was back in the day this insult should have never taken place, he should have made his solo thing, he would have succeded and eventually after some time a reunion and the bringin back of the real guns n roses would have just fit.
