I hope the guys in VR take a little time on this LP.? I felt that Contraband was a bit "rushed".

that's because it was.....they were playing for almost a year before they settled on Scott.....I think once they picked a singer it was like "OK, record your vocals because the albums done hihi"

hahahah.. Very true if anyone didn't see "The Rise Of VR"

and matt wanted to hit the roads to get BJ's Grin

that and i read every interview from the guys leading up to them naming Scott; It's not like they weren't antsy to get on the road and start touring Grin

If the band has a new song for a soundtrack then they already have been in the studio. Perhaps '06 will be the year.

i hope VR is farther along then they tell us. yes Pre Production but this could just be selecting the tracks for the album. who knows they could all be recorded already. they've spent alot of time in the studio and working on this album. Pre Production could also mean the CD case art and booklet. stuff like that be for its put in to full production and the CD's are being pressed. posible summer release MAYBE... not saying summer but who knows. pre production could mean alot of things. i know they where in the studio a few months back, posubly recorded all like 30 songs they seid they had writen. (some number like that.) i also know they wrote alot on the road durring the last tour. so they didnt start from scratch on this album after the tour. we will see what happens. cant wait for a new VR album. IMO this might be better then CD. but im 18 and VR is a more modern hard core rock n roll band. VR will prolly be labled as the biggest band of this era. as GNR is of its era. and zepplin of its era. so on so on. its in my nature to love it more lol. latz.

Let's not forget they started touring in May 2004, put album out in June, toured a long time, took some time off-I don't think they are doing too bad.

I don't know about VR being the GnR or Zeppelin of their era.....GnR sold 80+ Million records Worldwide, Zeppelin sold over 100 million....VR so far put out 1 album.......let's not get carried away Grin

Hopefully their second album lives up to the potential this band has shown us and they don't self destruct as their former bands have

Slash said they had written a ton of songs while on tour.
Pre production is probably picking the songs they want on the album.

Remember they were already in the studio with Pharrel.
A late summer - fall release is what shall go down.

Funny how there's more GN'R in Velvet Revolver then there is in Guns N' Roses.

Thats true - after a massive tour they deserve a bit of a rest - i'm just impatient cos I love the stuff!!

^^ It seems like while they were touring they  were putting songs together and were planning on going right back into the studio to record their follow up.....but the tour seemed to keep gettting extended to 18 months plus the New Years shows

And than once they got off the road, the last thing they wanted to do is get into the studio with each other to write and record a new album....can't say i blame them.....let them have some time to catch their collective breath and have some time away from each other.....imagine spending 18 months on the road with the same 4 people Huh I'd want to Kill someone hihi

At least they're getting somewhere. VR are a band that could just quite now and live off their success so at least be greatful that they're still putting out music, I don't care how long it takes them, as long as they enjoy themselves and put out a good record at the end of it all, I'm happy

name one new band thats better then VR. other then buck cherry i think there is not much real rock n roll left. theres some bands like the darkness silvertide. a few others that actualy play rock n roll. but then you have all your pussy music. emo stuff and grundge music. all these emo band will be forgotten. the mainstream of RnR as it is will not be remembered. they are not gaining any feet with there slow rythem dark stupid music. you have to make good music to be remembered. hell no one can even play gutar anymore. sad sad world. im just glad to see kurt koban is still dead and real rock music is comeing back. and if the next album is as good as i think its going to be then VR might just be the biggest Rock band in the world at the time.

^^  I agree with everything you just said.....the local rock station by me plays Default, TOAD, and that other band all f*cking day long and it just soesn't have any balls to it.....BuckCherry is cool....but other than them, I can't think of any band in VRs league....maybe Axl's new GnR will be but it's hard to say w/out hearing his new album....so far I have mixed feelings on it from what I've heard, though I was at the last Hammerstein show and it gave me hope....but I am really looking forward to hearing what VR comes up with after having been a band now for almost 3 years now

IF they are still a band - they should do just straight what they feel like and the album will come out fine. beer
Keep in mind,   no band any of the three Slash,  Matt and Duff put together has ever had a bad record as the end result.
GNR,  Neurotic Outsiders,  Snakepit's,  VR,  Duff's solo stuff...,  ALL great stuff!

I think Matt said something about them all writing songs separately for the new album, to give it a more diverse sound. Which is what UYI was like, lots of individually written songs recorded by the group.

I think this can only mean good things as far as having a more interesting musical mix than most of the straight-forward (although good) rock stuff on Contraband.
