Richard and Robin playing that song was one of the best parts at Rio IMO. I hate the original song but they made it orgasmic.

Yes, I said orgasmic.

Yup I saw the vid of that last night. I nearly had to go knock one out afterwards.

rofl i liked it but not that much  hihi

Linda Perry is an amazingly creative singer/songwriter, and if she were to be involved with Guns N' Roses in any way other than the cover of "Beautiful" I'd be even more excited to hear the new album.

Man, that would be fucking amazing! Linda Perry is one of the best songwriters in this universe and her working with Axl would be 2 of my alltime favorites together. She wrote Beautiful as her comeback hit but then producing other artists took off and well, Christina got to sing this song.

I remember when VR were just "the project" and looking for a singer and they played a few shows with CF with Linda singing; I so hoped she was gonna be the lead singer.  drool But anyway Linda is amazing and has a powerfull voice just as Axl so she could write him some crazy shit.

And check out After Hours or In Flight by Linda Perry they are amazing albums!

Again, this is an example of the complainers not thinking back to what old GNR did in the past, and thus making a fool of themselves.

GNR (any lineup) playing a song like this is not that unusual, be it a brief snippet, a guitar solo, or a cover.

During the Mosters of Rock tour with Metallica and Faith No More in 92/93, for many of the dates, Axl would actually open up one of the songs (SCOM, I think), by singing the chorus of "The One" by Elton John.  I remember, the first time I heard this, I was like WTF?Huh?

Additionally, have any of you heard the original song "Since I Don't Have You" that they covered for TSI album and even put out a video for on MTV???   I mean, that is FAR from what you would expect from "the most dangerous band in the universe."

The point is, while we all may concentrate on ONE style of music, great musicians ( I would put Axl and Finck into that category) can see beyond simply WHO sings a song, and see a GREAT song for what it is - excellent music.  I have often times thought that there are pop songs I hear that I think suck by the artist, but if GNR had the chance to take that song and make it theirs, it would be AWESOME.  That is in the same point of how MUZAK can take a GNR song like SCOM or NR, and turn it into elevator music, and it will suck.

Long story short, I agree that "Beautiful" is GREAT music, and hearing these two make it into a guitar duet is AWESOME!!!!

i like christina aguilera too she has a great voice, but c?mon this is guns n roses and how the fuck anyone dare to compare slash and izzy or gilby (remember the jams in the ilusion tour?) to this wannabe rockstars that jams a christina aguilera song?

please give me a break

Totally agree with you... GNR is a hard rock band... covering a pop song like Cristina Aguilera instead of doing some Rolling Stones, Zeppelin or something like that, just don't fit Guns.

Well said. The other intros used for SCOM were hardly songs you would think GNR would use as well.

In my opinion the more music you appriciate, the more alive you are.

Isn't there some quote in TSI liner notes like "Great music can be found anywhere"?

Finlandia              early20th? classical
I feel good           50s? funk?
Ziggy stardust     70s   glum
Don't cry              90s   rock
Beautiful              early 21th pop

1899-1900, to be exact. A very significant and personal piece of music to the Finns, can't wait to hear Robin do it in Helsinki.

i dont see why people hate this just because it's a different genre.  if the rolling stones sang beautiful everyone would love it, but just because its christina aguilara you dont?
