I was just informed that these came from a disc with 12 tracks (almost full album) Only 1999/2000 material.
what are the other 10 songs on the disk, do you know?
It could be any of these songs

'Chinese Democracy'
Prostitute'
'Madagascar
'The Blues'
'Rhiad and the Bedouins'
'Catcher in the Rye'
'Leave Me Alone'
'Seven',
 The General'
'Thyme'
'This I Love',
'Quick Song'
'Zodiac
Atlas Shrugged

but honestly, i dont know.

This makes me wonder if the newer versions (and Better) weren't demos after all, but unfinished studio tracks.

Side note: That's definitely Josh Freese drumming on T.W.A.T., can't tell on I.R.S.

Yeah. Except for Catcher, I think they were all studio tracks.

I meant "album tracks" instead of "studio tracks", but judging by your reply I think you knew that. Anyway, yeah, I think they're unfinished album tracks that someone got a hold of and leaked.  Shocked

Well, whatever, screw that. I wait for the album. When there was ever a time in the last few years to be patient with a good reason, it's now.

But it sure is interesting to listen to the evolution of the song we already know.

It's so fucking hard not to listen. But I think I will have to hold out if any "new" tunes get leaked.

Interesting. The vocals on both of these are the same as the previous leaks, but the quality is better so they are clearer here. I do prefer the previous leaks myself - they sound way more complete.

Didn't Axl say that The General is a Brain song? He only joined after Buckethead, so post-1999, presumably.

These new versions are really cool, but I still prefer the first leaks.

IRS from 99 sucks! Where is the acustic intro and where are those fantastic heavy guitars in the verses.

Also on TWAT you can really hear the symphony now, but the song is powerless without Bucketheads work  Undecided

i don`t think so....

i`m glad axl took the time to perfect the songs though.... these versions will be very poor in comparison to the final versions (judging be bootlegs and leaks)

On IRS the guitar solo is much better than the Buckethead one (too fast, no feeling, no soul etc.... well just Buckethead beeing Buckethead).
However exept that, I really prefer the versions we already had, by far. They have more power and they are better mixed.

Me too. The latest leaks are nothing more than a mildly interesting curio.

« Reply #138 on: May 27, 2006, 08:30:27 AM »

I like it.  (Well, IRS anyway - haven't listened to T.W.A.T. yet)

That's one thing I've always found cool about demos - watching how songs 'evolve'.. In some cases, the demos might be better than the final versions, even.  (Faith No More: The Perfect Crime is a great example of this, in my opinion)

This is true. Somtimes bands keep building on a song and then the initial "spirit" the first take etc had is lost later on!
