His voice sounds a LOT stronger on these 2 versions.

Is IRS actually from '99?

Basically, i think they are a world better than the 'current' versions that are out.

I miss Buckethead's solos though. The ones on these versions are a bit bland

i prefer the faster IRS
twat quality is much better... so i like it better than the leak i had...

if it's true that they were recorded in 99.... i can't believe axl sat of those for so long..

one of these days he'll regret that loooong pause...

it's really a shame if this tracks are from 1999. i mean the song structures were already there. so why wait 7 more years? just to fuck with details? oh well...
though i have to add, that i like the newer versions better. i never was a bucket-fan, but his twat-solo is fucking amazing. is worth the wait...

Anyone notice how TWAT's tempo speeds up at ~ 5:38 in the song? Kinda wierd. I think that's the first time I've heard a song change tempo like that without some kind of buildup/interlude to it. It's like mid-beat it just speeds up. It almost feels like it slows back down again after that. Maybe it's some sort of error.? Huh Either way, amazing recordings. I might make one my ringtone.

Am I missing something here, cause my version is only 5:01?

Yeah, the new leak is 10:04 according to media player but it's nowhere near that long...

i miss bucketheads solo soo much on twat

Agreed. It was the heart and soul of that song for me. I really hope the album version will have the solo in it. Was TWAT played live WITH the solo?

Wow, IRS gains from the new guitar parts, very funky and catchy.

TWAT is much better with the long solo at the end.  this one plays more like an edit.  Like those November Rain edits that are out there.  Who wants to hear them!?!  IRS was about the same only without such an abrasive solo in the middle.  So, one thumb down, one thumb up.

I dig the originals (the 2002 I guess) demos more. I like the minimalism of later IRS. TWAT loses a lot without the extended solos.

I can totally see why Axl wanted a "shredder" like Buckethead. This confirms that the dude knows what he's doing and the wait is worth it. Ican't wait to hear what they sound like now Cool

I was just informed that these came from a disc with 12 tracks (almost full album) Only 1999/2000 material.

This could be that first version of CD that was rumored to have almost been released back then... And the demos Rollingstone heard...Interesting...

This makes me wonder if the newer versions (and Better) weren't demos after all, but unfinished studio tracks.

Side note: That's definitely Josh Freese drumming on T.W.A.T., can't tell on I.R.S.

It would be interesting to hear the blues from that discs, especially to see how raspy his voice is on that song.

They are good for deciphering the lyrics, I prefer the original leaks all the same.

I dont think that version of irs works very well, it sounds too lacklustre.

It is nice to hear them all the same.

Yeah. Except for Catcher, I think they were all studio tracks.
