It would be cool to have some young kick ass Rock band open, similar to have Aerosmith had GN'R when they were massive and GN'R were almost equally as massive coming through. Problem is I can't think of such a band..

Monster Magnet
Silvertide
Roadstar
The Glitterati

Any of the above Wink.......

Monster Magnet was horrible when they opened on Zombie's Hellbilly Deluxe tour.

I'm going to reiterate, SEVENDUST...and agree with Crossfade and/or Silvertide.

And why would we want a band who's bigger than GNR to open for them??

If they do Download, I hope Tool go on before them. peace

that WOULD be Fucking amazing. But i guess Tool would like to play last..

I'm not 100% convinced they are quite a headline act in the UK yet.

And alongside GN'R and Metallica, they are a rung below on the ladder of greatness.

And I'm sure I read somewhere about Maynard and Axl being buddies, so you never know. peace

Dont get me wrong.
Maynard and Axl are my two biggest favs. of all time.
And i know GNR has a great history, and Tool is about
to make it theyr selfs.. and i guess GNR would be set for
last act. But, i dont think Tool would like to play last, because
of theyr live show, that needs to be in the dark.. etc.

I know there was a little verbal fight when Maynard ran of
with Billy Howerdel, and started the APC project. More then
that i dont think they have any fights in any way. I remember
Maynard says something like, God Bless Axl, but he doesent
seam to get his things together..
But there sure is alot of paralels between Axl and Maynard
- Chris Pittman worked with Tool
- Josh Freese and Billy Howerdel From Maynards APC have history with GNR
- Danny Carey (Tool Drumer) Worked with GNR`s Chris pittman
- Robin Finck opend for Tool with NIN, i think?
- and if im not totaly wrong Brain has also done things with APC member..Huh (correct me if im wrong her)
Anyway! It would be great to see them the same day! They doesent even have to be opener. Just tour together...

My dream situation

How about someone like Fiona Apple(not likely) or Michelle Branch(more likely). The arenas wouldn't be packed with too many non GNR fans, and both of these artists would put on a great show.

Michelle Branch and Guns N' Roses??? HUH!?!?!?!?!

I think Slash will re-join GNR before this EVER happens.

I think it'd be cool if they got small, unknown local bands to play at each stop of their tour...change it up each time.

If not, I'd really like to see Buckcherry (similar kind of rock) or on a personal note, LIVE (big fan).  They have a new disc coming out soon (although its been pushed back almost as many times as CD! hehe).  Never happen, but one can dream.

GNR For Fucking Ever

« Reply #248 on: February 22, 2006, 11:56:11 AM »

Monster Magnet would be cool too, I just got in to their stuff a few weeks back when I heard Space Lord on the radio that song rocks.  It seems the majority want Audioslave, Buckcherry, Silvertide, White Stripes, and Avenge Sevenfold I would be glad to see any of those bands open up.  I'm definatley making it out to see each one of them by themselves if they don't make it on a bill with GNR.  I've seen Audioslave twice once front row in Nov. and it was amazing I also have seen Silvertide twice once front row too and they are very energetic rock and roll group.  Another group that would be cool to see live again that has recently reformed is The Black Crowes.

What about CKY and Mix Master Mike again.  Smiley Just kidding.  I kind of like the idea of Silvertide though.

^^^I don't mind them.  They have some decent tunes and they are a good example of how rock was back in those days, not only in sound, but in attitude and in their larger then life personas.  I just don't see them with GNR though....Motley still has that 80s sound to them whereas GNR is moving in a diff direction and their music is pretty timeless - sounds good in any decade.

Jet is the best idea I've read so far.

I think that alot of the bands being mentioned are a little to big to be opening for NuGnR. Maybe after this lineup gets a name for itself, but right now Audioslave, Foo Fighters, and alot of the other bands being mentioned are bigger than GnR. It's not like this is Axl, Izzy, Slash, Duff and (pick a drummer).......... They are running off of two internet leaks and a failed tour in 2002.

Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see them. But be a little more realistic when throwing out 'openers'.

Jet? Jet fucking sucks. Sorry to say it so blunt but yeah... Not for GnR.. Too POP sounding. They are't that popular in America anyway so I doubt it. Shinedown, Brand New Sin(a bit heavy but rocked when they opened for BLS), or another newer Rock band..
