In 1995 Duff asked Izzy to work on songs for the new GN'R album, in 8 days they wrote 10 songs in LA and even recorded them as demos. One of the songs is called "Down By The Ocean" or "Down By The Sea". Izzy said this in an 2001 interview for River.

I've also read somewhere that later on Axl called Izzy and asked him for the full copyrights of the song but Izzy wouldn't give them. Axl even went to court to get the rights but he didn't won.

I love the current GNR the way it is, but I would definitely like to hear some material during the 93-97 period,

Like the Zeppelin song "Down by the Seaside"?

Popular Magazine 2001:

Is it true that you credited songs for the new Guns album, Chinese Democracy?

"In 95 Duff and me recorded songs for the band. We made a tape that went nowhere. Then, a couple of months ago I have
a message on my answering machine: Yo! It's Axl, I need a copy of the songs that you did. There was one called "Down
by the Ocean" or "Down by the Sea", they may have used it, I haven't come back to know nothing."
