So it appears (as per Axl) that 'Better' is a Robin Fink song. Assuming that he meant Robin wrote it, do you think that has any bearing on whether or not 'Better' could be one of the "Big Guns" previously suggested exist? Seems to me that anything written by anyone else besides Axl would be concidered as filler. Not that I mean to suggest the rest of the band can't or shouldn't write, but that Axl's songs, his babies that he's had for years are more likely the songs that would be concidered as the "Big Guns."

Either way...if 'Better' is not a "Big Gun," I think we're in for one hell of an album(s) as that song rocks!

Robin wrote the music, Axl wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies which is pretty apparent

After all, before he lends his talents to others' projects, Rose has one of his own to finish, and he says it's getting there. "We're working on thirty-two songs, and twenty-six are nearly done," he says. Of those, thirteen are slated for the final album. Among Rose's favorites are "Better," "There Was a Time" and "The Blues."

he sure does like the new songs cause of the expression on his face, he puts his hand to his chest at times and as if he's telling a story that he'd be telling you one on one, thats what I love about Live shows. I'm really glad he's back.

I've read an article last year somewhere in this forum or sp1at, ones that are considered "big guns" are
Prostitute, TWAT, Catcher in the Rye and This I Love.

Don't know if it is true, we just have to wait for CD to come out.

Its not like anyone bar the musicians involved know, but from the interviews sp 1 at did with Brain and producers the best songs are The General and Prostitute. They are the ones that were consistently mentioned and hinted at.

I just find it extra strange that Axl mentions Better and TWAT and a few weeks later they are all over the internet. That is not a coincidence.

I don't like any of the new tracks/demos but if anything I'd say Better would probably be the strongest track out of them.

i thought all songs, except for the ones played in 2001/2002, are big guns, since axl is holding them back........

anyways.... it`s a matter of taste....

I thought the same GNFNR.
And yes WARose, it's a matter of taste, difinitely. yes

Why, the big guns are not necessarily written by Axl. No point.
They'd use any good idea from anyone in the band.
It's band work, the collaboration of the 8 of them with axl being the producer like Tommy said.

Axl himself stated it wouldn't be an Axl Rose Album.

It's a big gun, you can count on it. Anyone who says otherwise is being foolish. As great as the album should be, it's quite possible that 'Better' will be one of the top 3 tracks of the album...

"big guns" i think refers to the 2002 detroit wrif interview when axl says that the songs played on the 2002 were songs that he wasnt even considering for singles, and that they were holding the "big guns" for when the album is coming out. I don't think "better" is single material, "twat" probably is, "catcher in the rye" is and im guessing thats why they arent playing it live now
